Re: Leyland Atlantean injector line leak
I have one line coming out of the injector pump that will not fully seal, tried some Teflon tape helped some just a slight weep, how to fix? I do not want to over tighten? Try taking the fuel line off and polishing the sealing surface of the olive with some fine grade emery cloth, there might be a ...

Re: Ex. Busways MAN 16.240 170
Hello All, This vehicle is part of a batch of 25 which are being withdrawn at the moment; When I last checked the fleet lists only 16 are left in service with Busways. It has a Custom Coaches body of 1989. I would have to say that the door layout is rather interesting and unique for a bus that age....

Re: Ex. Busways MAN 16.240 170
These buses are my favourite of all time. They sound great and go well (not necessarily stop that well but...). 170 spent most of its life at Camden. They are not turbo charged. The engine is about 11.2 litres *I think*. Definitely a reason to get smashed at the pub if that will take you home! Than...

This is a shame, a real end to a great era. I can't believe it but that's progress I suppose.

From my memory, if it is correct this time around! I don't think that it is a demonstrator but more so a new addition to the fleet.andrew28121990 wrote:Red Bus Service have a new Demonstrator in TNSW livery brand new Iveco Metro with an Express body number 66

So many of you are talking about the windows, stainless steel and so on. Let me ask this question, how many of you have changed the windows or cleaned out graffiti and so on let alone do a service at the same time? Trust me, with the nature of so many people in greater society these days a simple an...

Like I said earlier, if the mouths reckon that they are so good then they should get off their butts and do it. Peta. Only thing is Peta, the mouths like Willie may not be regular contributers but take a lot of pics that they do share and are 1000 times better than those posted in this topic. There...

Whatever happened to "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" It's not like it's that hard to post constructive criticism, rather than outright knocking someone else's contributions. We're getting to the point people don't want to even post pics because they just know the...

Stop being so negative about the photos you lot, if you think that it can be done better then get off your butts and get out there and do it yourselves. In other words "put up or shut up".
Thanks for the photos Ben.

Re: Learning to drive manual
Is this the 13sp you are talking about? I wonder if the model number of the box is make-specific? It only has 13 gears as the other two overlap. LL 1, 2, 3, L 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 H 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Hey Daz, that's one of the old 15 speeders from years ago when I was young. You're younger than me so you migh...

Re: Learning to drive manual
I don't believe Mack ever made an 18 speed, it would be the Eaton 18 hole in the CH which are still a very nice box. The Mack 10 an 12 speed Maxitorques are unbelieveably strong but can be slow on split. I've ground a lot of gears in them on a dyno (about 2000 trucks and buses) over the years, but ...

Do not rest your hand on the gearshift while driving as it can wear the syncro,s in the box The syncros you speak of in Eaton, Fuller, Spicer are actually in your head & arm BUT will wear the selectors In the box & the isolator bush if resting your arm on the stick not good . & yes it will wear the...

Twin stacks on a coach. WOW. It's definitely an old Tourmaster, the front axle is set further back than a Landseer and like so many others have said, the a/c pod is a dead give away!

2 axle Tourmasters, there weren't many of them around! Nice photos, I still like the lines of a Landseer the most though and it's not hard to work out who used to own the one that is signwritten "Original Coaches"!

Re: SOUTHERN COACHES IN QLD
By memory they were a 22.360 (sorry!), the MAN chassis was the first offering by Austral as a chassis for the high decks and the 'deckers. They did that because they needed more time to design, engineer and pass their own design with the authorities. The first showing at a Warwick Farm bus show was ...

Does anybody have some photos of the older F100 based ambulances they all seem to have disappeared around 5-10 years ago? There is one parked in the Byron Bay police station up on the North Coast, I believe it's used in some capacity by the VRA. Somehow VW and Mercedes Benz vans just don't cut it c...

It's certainly going to be the end of an era, that's for sure. I still remember when the mark 1 vehicles came into being when I was a kid, they had a moving picture display behind the driver and everyone used to sit and watch whilst riding in them. And the sound of the early models with the horizont...
