Re: 60s MTT Buses in Mitchell Fwy construction video

Thanks for the link. Featured early on is AEC Regal III 196, followed by an AEC Regal IV, both ex-Fremantle Municipal Transport Board. Looks like a 400-series Worldmaster rounding the Barracks Arch.

Re: Morris buses

Riverton Bus Service operated this Morris Commercial:

Although it gained MTT fleet no 37 when that company was taken over in May 1961, it is doubtful that it was ever operated by the MTT. I have a colour shot of it somewhere too...

The bus in your second photo is an ex-Education Dept of SA Bedford VAS with Freighter-Lawton body. A couple of years ago it was resident in the back corner of the former Morley Depot. The owner at that time was quite friendly: http://perthbus.info/image.php?image=132B86123874 http://perthbus.info/i...

Enjoying your photo posts, Denv12 . Just one small correction: the 7th photo in your first posting is of WAGR Guy Victory G59, one of three bodied by Motor Body Builders, a subsidiary of Scarborough Bus Service. The other two are preserved at Whiteman Park awaiting restoration. The bus in the 5th p...

Re: Blue Mountains postcard

There's been a quite a number of Express-bodied B7Rs built as WA orange school buses, and unfortunately a lot of them don't have regos recorded. 1DOD would make it 2011 vintage, so therefore not on a delivery run, which could point towards it being from one of the larger operators like Shepherdson ...

Re: Been asked how many buses on the vintage bus loop today?

And just to stir the pot a bit, only no 4 had those full Leyland wheel nut gaurds in service! Though I note it now wears black ones; it wore red with the MTT. No 4 was chosen by the WA bus museum principally because it has an air-bumper, very useful for shunting. It was also the one we borrowed fro...

Route 21 retrospective

When the original Morley Depot in Camboon Rd was opened on 17 April 1966, the Perth to Collier Rd Morley Route 18 (the extension Perth's last tram route) was renumbered Route 21. After nearly 48 years, the last 21 has run. Whilst I can't recall having caught the 21 until I changed schools in 1978, ...

Thank goodness for another informative thread on ATDB! I too shall be following it with great interest. Naturally, I'd be interested to learn about the WA operation's origins and ownership. I recall reading that there was a connection with the former owners of the Midland Railways Co, perhaps drive...

A busman's holiday - December 2013 pt1 - plus some nostalgia

Last week I spent a very relaxing week down south, taking a complete break from driving by using Transwa. I absolutely love their K124s and would love to get behind the wheel of one some day. The downside is that the photo subject gets a bit repetitive, so apologies for that in advance. A bustle of...
