Oh yes, the exSTA ones...... yeah we'll see. It is interesting enough that CR228Ls are on it, rather than newer units.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
I'm more curious if they are any truth with North Sydney Bus Charters running stationlink to? In another thread, there was a job advert for it but there hasn't been any official release from them. If they are, we might see variety. I think they will be used, yes - their advertisement on Seek is ver...

All the specs for the Panel 4 buses are there - https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/operations/buses-and-coaches/tfnsw-bus-procurement-panel - click on "Zero emission bus specifications" or "Diesel Euro 6 bus specifications" and a pdf file is available for each bus type if you can b...

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts (as from 2020)
That's confusing what happened to the extra room that Interline made at Macquarie Fields from when they started the 2014 contract ether Transit Systems isn’t using that extra space or Interline had a temporary thing going on with the space at Macquarie Fields while the Leppington depot was getting ...

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
Does anyone know where this station link sydenham depot is that shows in the Fleetlist? Are the ex cdc buses in the Stationlink livery or still in Canary/Nsw? Some buses are already visible being stored in a yard on Sydney Steel Road in Marrickville. Others are reported to be operating from a yard ...

Re: RIP Fleet Lists
Lourie was a very nice man, and always helpful. I enjoyed my time discussing buses and the world with him. His contribution to this board and its predecessor was unmatched, as well as establishment and upkeep of the fleet lists and his photo gallery. To top it all off, he was very nice as well. I wi...

Re: Working as a bus driver in Sydney 2022?
GETTING A BUS "AUTHORITY" I recall a 2023 (?) news item wherein the $70 application fee for a Bus Authority had been waived (by Premier Minns?) in order to encourage applications for "Bus Authorities". I've just been charged (June '23) the $70. Something's wrong at TfNSW. Can so...

Re: NSWPF HWP Random Drug Testing bus
A bit of a fail on the back there, must have bottomed out. In a sense I am outraged that the government would buy something imported instead of locally made - but then again it would have been tendered and the lower (best value?) bid accepted

Re: Rail buses - tickets required?
I get how people become confused with rail buses! Nothing that reading the destination signage wouldn't solve! :P  I had a few people get on the 962s I was doing from Sutherland to Miranda during that closure as well thinking it was a rail bus - I told them it's quicker with me, but it'll ...

Re: Rail buses - tickets required?
How about portable Opal readers at the bus stops, with a wireless link back to the station? LOL! Fantastic idea, but at the bottom of the too hard basket for sure! I do feel for some Opal users who regularly travel on weekends and might be missing out on 'free' trips because they don't do as many O...

Interesting - let's hope it is an isolated incident. Although I understand why they need to be (for downloading and updating etc), I am surprised the ticket/opal system are always powered, even when the bus battery is switched off.

There was at least one Hopkinson's coach on standby at all times over the weekend for southern highlands rail replacement with the Nowra accreditation and it is a Premier replacement contract. Not sure if that means the Hopkinsons chinese buses as this one have been relocated to Nowra or not... I mi...

If the join is in the original photo as suggested though, it will be the camera or memory card playing up.

Re: Easter Show
No more magnetic stripe tickets. Presumably in the past all buses on special events routes had stocks of the tickets, but they could only be validated (if they actually were) on STA buses. So no statistics available on individual routes. So loadings could only be counted on/off at OP, perhaps TfNSW...

Re: Easter Show
Anyone who has pre-purchased Show Tickets just has to show them to the driver/gate staff. 21st century system there. Surely the stats on where someone gets off (leaving the event) the bus/train are valuable and we need to move beyond paper based systems. The print-at-home tickets have a barcode whi...

Re: Easter Show
I couldn't find anything on the Opal website about use on Special Events buses. Presumably you just tap on/off as normal, same as you do if you went by train? Opal is not used on the special event buses (yet). I ofte work the easter show on the 6 and must say I'll welcome the no tickets from a self...
