Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
Since very few other STA operations have been privatised (as of yet), can anyone in Sydney tell me if any new Transit Systems buses are still being made to STA specifications? I've ridden a new Newcastle Transport B8RLE Bustech the other day (2821 Fleet no) and I believe it was built in August of t...

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
Why is Bankstown Line replacement buses now only operated by Transdev and Punchbowl Bus? it used to be a variety of operators such as Telfords, Premier Illawarra , Shire bus and NSBC. Just curious:D Transit Systems was involved as well. Let’s not forget it was only T3 Bankstown line too, if it was ...

I’ve been told there will be two buses on trial, one for Busways Penrith Depot and another Sydney bus operator, I’ve yet to find out the second operator.
The bus is going through it’s testing and hopefully not too I’m the distant future it will be approved by TFNSW

Is it safe to say Transdev will not retain its contract, as they operate 30% of Melbourne bus services and its horror run of where they needed other companies to help them have cost them their contract?

Re: New bus contracts to drive improved services (as from 20
So STA will be all gone by April 2022 by the looks of things. Very sad indeed for all the workers and other staff. Region 7 has to go to CDC. They should allow them to co-ordinate things with Region 4 in order to achieve the best efficiencies. In a similar vein, Region 9 to TSA would make sense too...

There was another bus/car accident mentioned on the news down that way, but didn't catch the details. Looked like an all white bus. Re: High floor buses in Sydney
I believe the due date is the end of 2021. Most operators nationally are already there or are close with the remaining necessary buses on order. WA, QLD and NT have no high floors in regular route service to my knowledge, SA has a new order of buses just starting now to replace the remainder of the...

487 would be interesting. How well patronised is it? 487 has quite a fair bit of patronage, but it's every now and then. Some buses you may find averaging about 8 people, some lower and some particularly in peak hour manage to nearly take up all the seats. Quite a bit of that patronage is of passen...

Re: Fare evasion; Sydney buses.
Fare evasion on Sydney's buses is rife. On most trips I observe at least one boarder who walks straight past the Opal card reader. It irritates me that I have to pay and they don't. What to do about it? There are many places one can lodge a complaint. I suspect most would respond with buck-passing....

it's also interesting that Transport For NSW haven't sold or voluntarily handed the shuttle service back to Parramatta council yet and they could revert the M90 back to 860 witch was the number that was used for the Liverpool to Bankstown route pre the 2006 government review witch saw it merge with...

Opal enabled buses do report back to the real time data feed, so there’s a bonus that you can actually tell how far away your bus is! That will mean that they would have to install those opal GPS enabled driver console into the busses that are owned by the book for hire charter operators that do ra...
