Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions
Imagine the owner of the site having a life and not having perthbus as their top pirority. Yeah, I try to imagine it too! Please excuse my sarcasm as I appreciate your comment. 19 years of hard slog & not good enough for some - not to mention personal expense. The site currently costs $1200pa. ...

Screen Shot 2023-10-24 at 2013.46.png Is it true Path Transit (previously Australian Transit Enterprise P/L) still owns the deeds for the Wanneroo Depot (now in Swan Transit's control)? Unsure. I have a map saved somewhere (from the 2000s, mind you) that showed the locations of present and planned ...

Re: Leyland Royal Tiger Questions
Oh, an anecdote about Regal IVs: I never rode either in service, but apparently the preselects were favoured over the monocontrols. My school bought a monocontrol one on my 12th birthday. Despite being a fantastic new experience with all those new noises to memorise, it was quite evidently a slug c...

Re: Leyland Royal Tiger Questions
Fantastic read RK215. I rarely visit this forum any more due to lack of such expertise content. I vividly recall my confusion as I stood on William St Sydney in January 1989 listening to one of their Leopards moving away from a stop. It simply didn't make the right noises, but was rather to my &quo...

Thanks for the link to the TrolleyWire issue; I didn't realise they were available online. I haven't worked through the information contained in that issue, but you'll find details & photos of Perth's trolleybuses here: https://perthbus.info/index.php?page=15#770.0

This seems to be a good point to emphasize that the MTT / Transperth & now the PTA have always been very supportive of the bus preservation movement in Perth.

Thanks for posting the photos. Whilst Daimler Freelines were rare in Australia, they were plentiful in Auckland. Perth had 31 of them and two are with the Bus Preservation Society at Whiteman Park. One of the sisters to yours was in preservation in the 1980s but was then sold for more use as a bus....

I've been hoping one of these would turn up! One of my childhood favourites.
