It depends on how street smart you are to be honest. These places are generally only dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

I personally haven't had any bad experiences being at Parramatta, Auburn or Bankstown at night. But I can imagine there would be nicer places to be walking around at a late hour than those suburbs you mentioned.
