Re: 2025 SA Transport observations

Hello legends,

It's been a while!

Just a heads up - you have the rego of Torrens Transit #1131 listed as SB34DQ when it's actually SB14DQ.

Thanks,
Mitch :)

Re: Other Body Builders Discussion / Observations

Going back to other body builders, I did take a ride on an Express Metro LF with Volvo BZL chassis based at Busways Penrith the other day and my oh my it rattled more than a Volgren. I managed to trace the source of the rattling to a panel at the rear and some loose pole joins near the front but ...

Re: Custom Denning Discussion / Observations

Does anyone know what happened to the plan that Custom had to export some trial models to the UK? I was keen on keeping an eye on it but it seems to have fizzled out since it was announced last year/the year before.

And of course, I went to the airport to get some snaps. I was hoping for the QantasLink liveried Embraer, but I have since been informed that it's a Brisbane based aircraft and Hobart won't see it! :(

A Few Hours Around Hobart [21 & 22/05/2022]

Spent the week in Hobart and got the chance to spend an hour in the CBD to do some gunzelling. I must say, some of the cleanest and most well-presented vehicles are in Hobart. It unfortunately looks like Flickr compresses the quality of the photo slightly when it is shared on a message board, so a ...

Re: Omsi Two Stuff

Hi all,

Realised that it had been a bit of time since I'd posted any kind of update to my workings with OMSI and modelling. I'd moved away from the Express because it was, like the Volgren, giving me issues. I ended up moving back to the Volgren.

Work is busy so the project is on a slow burn but ...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread 2021

There was. There were already quite a few aircraft stored at ASP (notably the Silk and Fiji MAX-8s) prior to COVID. Then once Singapore and Cathay started sending their units there, it was relatively full fairly quickly.

I had the same thought. But AFAIK, none of CDC Victoria's Optimus buses have that taillight set up and I would say easily 75% of their fleet pre-Optimus have those Hella/Narva light units.

I'll be intrigued to see the outcome of that ACCC submission. I know the ACCC is/was investigating Qantas because of how bought a percentage of corporate ownership of Alliance. The ACCC has the opinion that it will reduce competition because Qantas already has Qantaslink and it's huge regional ...

It's good to see the ex-McHarry's CR221L is still getting around. I'd wondered what happened to those buses.

I've had a small change of heart in terms of the bus I wanted to recreate. It's a bit "blocky" at the moment but all my blender skills are self taught, so I'm learning as I go.

Blue Skies at Melbourne Airport [29/01/2020]

I've definitely moved across from being a bus gunzel to an avgeek and it'd been a long time since I'd spotted at Melbourne Airport - so I thought I'd take advantage of the gorgeous blue skied afternoon that Melbourne graced us with.

Two Hours at Sydney Airport [23/11/2019]

Headed up to Sydney for a work trip and booked a late flight home on the Saturday, so I thought I'd do a little bit of plane spotting at the beach. The smoke and overcast conditions made for some interesting backdrops, but I did the best I could do.

Hey all.

Quite possibly a long shot but I'm trying to recreate the Volgren CR228L bodywork for OMSI and at the moment I'm pretty much purely going off of photos I've found and a schematic of the Optimus that I've found online as well. Someone wouldn't happen to have the designs for the CR228L ...

Today saw the 104 year old A2-986 steam locomotive pass through Geelong on a tour from Sydney to Melbourne via Geelong and Ballarat. The stop in Geelong also included a trip to Drysdale for a ride on the Drysdale to Queenscliff tour railway.
