Re: 2023 SA Transport observations

They're listed on the website if you search for the route numbers https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/routes/ga1 That's great if you know what the route numbers are. Indeed you already have to be in the know to realise that's an option. Communication of disruption information has always been lacking.

Re: [Jan-Jun 2023] SA Transport observations

Will this make any difference to the people who are currently not paying? Regardless of having a Metrocard or not. Caught a 254 from Port Adelaide on Sunday afternoon, by the time it reached Arndale there were probably 30 people on it, about 25 of them just walked straight on and sat down, didn't e...

Re: InDaily Article

I am a big proponent of bringing everything back in public hands. That being said, plenty of people don't understand that isn't a solution to poor services.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

I dunno, if a driver/rider/pedestrian doesn't see a great big whopping bus coming in broad daylight heading for them then I think they have issue regardless of whether the lights are on or off :? Maybe, but there's plenty of people who are vulnerable and genuinely won't see what we do. It's the res...

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

According to the TDU bus detours info for Sunday, 864 services will skip Stirling Aldgate and Bridgewater and go directly to Hahndorf. The page just says the Crafers on/off ramp will be closed. Would anyone know why buses can't service Stirling et al via the Stirling on/off ramp and simply skip Craf...

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

I don't think the efficacy is in question. Busways and Kanga could only provide a very basic service with absolutely no service promises. Handing more routes to the other operators isn't a solution either as industrial issues can present themselves in any company.

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

For their work doing M44Cs yesterday they were also just going around with "CITY" as the line number. That's interesting to see Busways operate M44Cs, even if it was due to strike action. Did they operate any other TT services? Not sure but I did see plenty of Busways L94UAs doing not in ...

Even the upper line was scrolling when I saw a CB80 doing the 720 a few days ago.

Last I checked they also removed the digital stop of the main stop (H1?) and replaced it with a static one. Any light on why?

Saw 1828's front validator with metroCARD accepted and credit card accepted stickers, is that just randomly put there or will those validators also get bank card acceptance?

If these artics still cant do the O-Bahn then surely they could go into usual service and perhaps a couple of the 117x/118x artics could do it instead?

App for alerting drivers to waiting passengers

Interesting ABC article today. Perhaps it would require integration into the BCU?

Do drivers here also carry spit kits? TfL bus drivers need to considering how often it is used as an assault method. I also imagine there's an SoS button on the radios.

Re: [July-Sep 2022] SA transport observations

Yeah, new timetable will wait on the rest of the Alstom class 4000s and Ovingham station being complete I believe.

Considering they were all re-engined in 2018, I'd hope SAPTA will introduce a better timetable for Outer Harbour and maybe Belair trains instead of just retire the spares.
