AES Ticket Validators
I've recently gotten my hands on a green AES Prodata ticket machine. Just wondering if anyone here would have some idea on how I might get it to fire up again and at least get the mechanism dipping tickets? From what I understand once the Datafare 2000 driver consoles were replaced with the new Wayf...

Re: 20 YEARS SINCE THE OPENING OF THE SYDNEY OLYMPICS
I'd like to get my hands on those VHS tapes so I can do a proper 576p digitisation of them instead of the 360p copy that's on Youtube.
Is there anyone here who has a copy that wants to sell or lend to me?

I am highly doubtful that they would ever consider ditching the heavy rail station. It's very useful.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
Guessing the current AM peak timetable is at the point of saturation, so they can only bring in extra trams from 10am onwards.

Yeah, wiki isn't reliable for obscure local articles. Many are either well out of date or total made up nonsense.

Re: Rare and interesting car sightings
I think it's a damn shame that station wagons are on the way out here in Australia. I think the only mainstream wagons left are the VW Golf and Passat wagons, the Subaru Levorg and Outback (they call it an SUV, but I don't think it is), and the Skoda Fabia Wagon (only $19k!). There's also the Mazda ...

I'd warrant a glitch of some kind. Surely the 'most users ever online' stat only counts registered users?

ABC News is reporting that NSW-QLD rail services will be terminated due to the border closure. I can't find anything about this through the TfNSW channels.

Re: Rare and interesting car sightings
Poking around in Facebook the other day, I came across a photo of a small Asian truck, registered in NSW. Very fancy cab with lots of chrome. Thought it might have been Chinese, but checking the rego, it came up as a 2017 Daihatsu. Checking the web, it seems to be a tarted up HiJet, which I didn't ...

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
According to Channel 7 News, one of the trams went through a red lights and the brakes were applied hard. Do they have a system that puts the brakes on automatically, or the driver just realised and "slammed" them on him/herself? If there was a system, it doesn't look like it works very well... tBm...

The ABC seemed to be the only identifiable media presence at the light rail opening this morning. I think the media organisations must have pooled the footage.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
That kid who got hit by the tram was an idiotic teenager with too much testosterone, who appeared to be trying to jump over the coupling section linking up the tram going the other way in order to impress his friends. Unfortunately for him, he got creamed by the tram going the other way, which he di...

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
The red paint has done so much to the illegal use of the bus lane. One day basically it was treated like a standard traffic lane, pop down some red and everyone stays out of it. You see the same thing on Victoria Road between peak times - the bus lane may be legally used by general traffic, but illi...

And no doubt they'll put red arrows on the left turns to prevent car drivers from running over pedestrians at some of these intersections, too. Lanes which allow multiple movements through an intersection with different traffic light timings (e.g. a straight and a right) for each movement are terrib...
