They look nice and go well. But the plastic interior rattles. A lot.

Basically all covered above. We had some back-end process issues that maxed our bandwidth out. Site will be back up and running on Friday.

Re: Cavanaghs Mack
So after numerous contact over the years from enthusiasts in Perth and Canberra wanting to purchase this one of a kind vehicle for preservation, this is how it was sold? A piece of history lost, and a missed opportunity to Cavanaughs - they could have made a lot more than a measly $2200 from it had ...

Re: Private Operator Observations - March 2014
Hi All,
Wondering if anyone can help out with identifying some ex-ACTION Renaults at Sid Foggs. We've heard that there are seven PR180.2 Artics up there but only know of five (707, 708, 721, 983 and 988).
Thanks in advance

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations - June 2013
The other news is that that doug is considering buying more renauts (mk2 ones) as they have a larger seating capacity. I was interested to read that comment. The three that were purchased (701, 702 and 710) all have 61 seats. The Mk2 artics have 69 seats, but there are also a number of the Mk1 arti...

Re: Gungahlin Ideas
Some good ideas there, and a couple similar to those we've had posted on our site: http://www.actbus.net/forum/index.php?board=55.0
Don't think 15 min frequency on 230/231 would be necessary with the 200 extended to Belconnen.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations April 2013
Speaking as a passenger, I've always loved them, but I did grow up riding on them. Others could probably comment on any common mechanical issues. They're fairly reliable but given they're around 25 years old, they do break down from time to time. Of the original batch of 27, only one was withdrawn b...

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations April 2013
Hi Ryan All three are heading to Wisby's school bus service in Hobart. After they arrive they are going to be repainted white (possibly with an orange and yellow stripe). I think 2 are going in service with one as a spare or for parts.. Unsure at this stage till they get back here. Will post pics w...

From memory, just inside the front doors of the bus, on the left. Similar to where it is on the Renaults.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations April 2013
Apparently a couple of ACTION's recently retired Renault PR180.2 Mk1 articulated buses are heading to Tasmania.
Anyone know who has purchased them?
They are ex BUS 701, 702 and 710.

Hasn't popped up anywhere as yet. There was no real indication of where it was headed, although it was owned by Scania so it may be back with them for storage or modifications?

They are Supervisor field vans. Often used in morning peak to run along routes if there's a breakdown/cancellation and a replacement bus/driver can't be arranged, among other supervisor duties.

Re: The Inspector invades Canberra (3)
I've always thought the same thing about the orange stripe at the back end of the bus - it goes from above the windows to almost at at the bottom of them very fast. The Inspector wrote:to be honest, I dont think the orange/ brown stripe would not meet up perfectly if it was continued over the concertina.

Re: Some Canberra photos
I know I am supposed to identify the subject and location but I don't know anything about these buses and I don't know Canberra's streets too well and, although I'm pretty sure one of them is London Circuit, the only thing I can say with any certainty is that they are in the CBD. I can help with th...

Re: 20 new articulated buses
There's only one in service at the moment, although two more were moved from Woden Depot the other day.
There's only 11 artics assigned to Belconnen (excluding the new ones) so there's a fairly limited number of shifts they operate on at present.

506 will be used for a NRL Special tomorrow night - not sure which service it's on though.
508 arrived this week also. 506 is at Belco, 507 and 508 at Woden.
