^^^^^^^^^boronia (above) appears to have guessed correctly.
The TfNSW website now says, under the heading "Apply for a Bus Driver Authority" -
"From 1 August 2023 the government has introduced a $70 fee waiver......"

"GADIGAL" NAMING FOR TOWN HALL METRO STATION.
It's in the news again - Sydney Morning Herald, 9.8.23. Transport Minister Haylen is quoted as saying the naming is "still going through the Geographical Names Board process".

Re: Bus Observations 2023

Three days notice of a government-organised (?!) public meeting about bus services is totally unacceptable.
It's been suggested that Transport may have emailed invitations to persons who had already made submissions to the taskforce.
I guess there's no way of checking that....

Transport for NSW can claim the prize for turning the no-reply email into an art form. Their spelling, not so good. Their website urging people to become bus drivers declares that the $70 Application Fee has been waved (sic).

GETTING A BUS "AUTHORITY" I recall a 2023 (?) news item wherein the $70 application fee for a Bus Authority had been waived (by Premier Minns?) in order to encourage applications for "Bus Authorities". I've just been charged (June '23) the $70. Something's wrong at TfNSW. Can som...

REDFERN WEST-END PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE Weeks before the earlier pedestrian bridge was demolished, possibly in the early 1990s, I "fronted" then Chief Commissioner Ross Sayers, on the bridge, and implored him to save it, as it saved Sydney University students and staff much walking time between...
