Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Meanwhile here in Ashgrove... (Toowong, Virginia, Eagle Farm, Sherwood and Carina territory) 😂 A gas bus is never seen out of peak hour 😭 I like MAN buses due to the ride comfort, but the CNG engine does feel a little bit of weak.Probably because they are old, but they usually get refreshed after a...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
S1651 is on Route 111 today. 15:22 & 16:37 Departure from Roma Street and 16:00 Departure from 8 Mile Plains. A questionable decision, tho, as all the buses I've seen are less than 20% full. Is the demand really high enough for artics to be used at this point in time? I guess most people (including...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
noticed today, all of the BT buses will now using rear door boarding instead of front doors, also saw Surfside buses here now doing the same. Yes they have introduced a few new measures on the buses recently and they are: -rear door boarding -gocard payment only -first row of seats behind the drive...

Re: Rail & Private Operator Observations 2019
Are their any TransLink contracted operators that have a order for Custom bodied Scanias as I spotted a bus with what looked like the TransLink logo on the right rear corner in Prestons tuning into Lyn parade from Jedda road heading to Scania truck and bus Sydney branch Bus Queensland and Mt Gravat...

Re: Electric Buses
This will be the biggest shake-up to transport on the Gold Coast since the light rail. The plan for electric buses has been revealed in a special briefing to councillors today. @BrendonWolf9 #9News https://t.co/cMeXsngSVp https://twitter.com/9NewsGoldCoast/status/1230395450592768000 Looks like they...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Not every off-peak bus will be busy as, yes, it's off-peak (that can even be said in peak times too). But the Blue CityGlider is the 2nd highest patronage route in Brisbane sitting at just over 3 million trips last financial year (see link below). This figure has grown substantially year on year for...

Really? I got a seat on route 60 many times when moving between the cultural centre and the valley. But those were not at peak time.Cazza wrote:Just Route 60 to help the peak overcrowding (and the standing room only at other times). The Maroon Glider will continue to be operated from Carina.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2019
Is that part of southwest's coverage? Wouldn't be surprise if they were on loan... Southwest does go to GC I'm pretty sure. But to Willawong maybe not. Mystery The 122 is (almost??) exclusively covered by South West Transit using the fleet of 15 diesel MAN buses (1001-1015). You will often see Toow...

I found the Toowong's buses are normally better maintained than W's and G's as they run smoother.daveeyh wrote:MANs 1310, 1311, 1312, 1322, 1323, 1324 and 1325 all transferred to Garden City from Toowong today - interesting though that 1345, 1346 and 1347 still remain at Toowong.

The Carina 1920's are going to Sherwood (so far 1922-1928 at Sherwood) and in return the Sherwood 5100's are going to Carina. Not sure where the 18.310's are going. They seem to have the 1300's from Toowong but 1373 was transferred to Willawong a few days ago. Which bus will take place of old Scani...

Why Queensland's buses don't have station onboard broadcast
After Victoria and NSW added station information screen inside the bus, Translink operators especially Brisbane Transport still doesn't take any action so far. I think the info display is quite useful for passengers who are new in that route. I can clearly remember years ago when I moved to the curr...

So now that we know that any regular length bus put on a 14.5m route is likely to fill up too quickly, is there any other reason on offer why drivers would hate it? Sounds like someone is trying to discredit the bus for being fully shipped here and not produced by a beloved local body builder. One ...

P.S: The only major problem I can think of that may greatly affect this wonderful Bus is the fact that they aren't locally made... but, another positive is that the Citaro is made completely by Mercedes Benz, so the operator won't need a warranty from the chassis manufacturer (E.g, Volvo, Scania, M...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2019
I just saw V2810 near the Roma St. station yesterday, which is a newly built VOLVO B8RLE, has the dual-wing back door. It is good to see we're having dual-wing back door bus.
