Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

My wife and I often comment on these products that disappear " Discontinued due to popular demand ". Happens so often. I was particularly fond of a product "McCormicks Rosemary & Garlic Wedges' a spice powder flavouring that I'd put over vegetables and wedges that I'd bake. Was just under $2 and was...

Re: A few train pics out near Cootamundra & Junee.

That looks like one of the Volvo B7RLE's with Express body of Junee Buses crossing in the background of photo #2. They have 2 in the fleet.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Private Bus Operations 2021

Spotted two Irizar i6 coaches pass through Mt Victoria last week 9308 MO & 9309 MO. 9308 was a Scania (K310 ?) with School Bus & Trunkey Creek on its desto. Missed the other, assume Scania likewise. All white and no identifiers. I assume new possibly on delivery. Checked usual suspects on fleet list...

Not much good if it comes up as the 21st option when you scroll down, whereas 2019 and 2020 are further up. That whole list needs to be re-prioritised by whose ever job that is.

An advertisement for their products on the back cover of the latest ABC magazine includes an image of an all white, single door Endeavour vehicle that appears to be on a 'midi' chassis.

The Bustech 0405's that are filtering down from some of the Queensland fleets certainly present well in their new life, if adorned with a decent livery.
The Warrigal example here looks very presentable.

Re: What makes you happy today?

I was going to cheer myself up and planned a day out by public transport from Katoomba up to the Central Coast and try to get a ride on Red Bus new BCI unit if I spotted it. I was proud of my schedule with lots of Red Bus riding, and then this latest COVID drama hit. So I'll have to give it a miss f...

Re: What makes you happy today?

Looks like no one's had any happy events for quite a while, so I might throw this one in. I was just reading in part that today 21 December 2020 the 'great conjunction' will occur (or already has, not sure which time zone it refers to). This is where the planets Saturn and Jupiter align and is thoug...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - 2020

I did not expect this. Good on Alliance for taking this initiative to buy more aircraft, especially under unpredictable circumstances. I bet this means some of its Fokker aircraft (and mind you, they are quite old) will soon head to retirement once the E190 jets head into service from next year. I ...

They're some very detailed technical specifications ! I notice among the Bus Manufacturers per bus type listings that the Denning Mfg 'Phoenix' or 'low floors' (now Custom Denning) have been excluded from NSW contracts. Would have thought they would have been among the school bus options at least. C...

Visually the most obvious is that the i6 has the rooftop bubble start straight above the windscreen, whereas Century the aircon pod was further down the roofline. A number of other body appearance upgrades and curves.

Re: Small bus companies of the 60's & 70's. Part 2.

The b&w photo I have of the GMC as Holmans office is unregistered and in poor exterior condition. It has overhead power connected to it, and there was also a derelict double decker ex DGT 1654 in front of it. The Holman era relevant plates I have shots of are mo 223 - Ld Lion Denning that he brought...

Re: Random Visual Memory.

Many years ago I'd have this dream / flashback a few times of looking up at a chicken/rooster that was higher than me, staring at me.
And then some time later I found a photo in my late parents collection of me as a baby in a pram with a chicken sitting on the handle.

Re: Small bus companies of the 60's & 70's. Part 2.

I've got a photo of the GMC that captainch refers to used by Max Holman as an office at the back of a servo in Illawarra Rd. But not in action. I did ride on those vehicles as a kid as lived at Dulwich Hill. Red & Cream posted some images of the fleet ages ago, but I suspect that's lost somewhere on...

My old HCVA Fleet listing of 1975 only shows one Austin in the A.E.Wood fleet at that time, of a total of 5 vehicles in the fleet:
mo 977 Austin FC - Syd Wood - 41 seater - build date 19.9.1957.

I wouldn't get too excited about short notice. Already has a very good service to Echo Point and Scenic World. Just needs the passengers, so will continue just carting fresh mountain air between A and B.
