Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions

I decided to map all of the Perth bus routes on Google My Maps... https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1VfXvKcqYbeUogFqlUijUCMNBBlsSgq93&usp=sharing It's colour-coded into train lines and updated pretty regularly. Different layers can be toggled on and off. That's fantastic! Thanks for sh...

Re: Next generation railcars for Transperth

It's still there as of 5:30pm today. Visible from Kensington St, but not in a good position for photos.

It serves the inner section of Wanneroo and Charles St, passing through the most densely populated suburbs in Perth.

Re: Forrestfield-Airport Link Project

There's nothing stopping them running on the branch - but they operate at a max speed of 110 so would struggle to run to timetable. They did operate W patterns on the Mandurah/Joondalup lines for years, which have a lot more high speed running between stops. Although I'm not sure if the timetables ...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2023

I'd say the 910 increasing to a weekday off-peak 10 minutely frequency is a pretty significant change too.

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2022

Shouldn't be too long now. Departure times have been updated on the TransPerth App. Airport Line will be operating alongside the Midland Line with the last special service departing High Wycombe at 4:45am. Looks like the last few services won't be running Claremont - Perth.

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2022

Is it just me or is the Christmas/New Year service update extremely late? When checking departure times on the Transperth App it looks like Christmas is sorted with the usual half hourly rail service. On NYE, either the services aren't yet finalised, or there's an error in the departure times. For e...

Re: Obscure & forgotten services/other - who remembers?

With the 980 replacing the 60 today I was wondering if anyone knows how far back the 60 goes?

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2022

The 60/980 doesn't operate at 5 minute intervals in the afternoon peak. It's more like 6-8 minutely. Am sure they were running more frequently in the afternoons a few timetables ago (or perhaps I am mistaken!). You're right. There was a brief period of 5 minutely services around 4:30pm-5:30pm. Befo...

Re: Forrestfield-Airport Link Project

Airport Line timetable has been updated for the 9th October. Looks like the first service towards High Wycombe leaves at 12:08pm, stopping at all stations. Last return is 6:12pm.

It doesn't look like the Airport Line will be running between Perth and Claremont until the 10th.

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2022

Last years changes brought route 60 just a few late-afternoon trips away from meeting the high frequency standard, so maybe the 980 is a hint they'll be finishing the job soon? No idea for the 376 though. Route numbering is anti clockwise from the 910 to 995. So given the 60 runs between the 950 an...

Re: Canstar city trains 2022

I'd say scheduling includes reliability. 30 minutely service is better than 15 if the former is almost always on time. New York Subway runs frequent Services but when I was there last, the trains arrived at apparently random intervals. Sometimes following each other, sometimes 20-25 minutes apart. I...

Does anyone know when the electric busses usually run? I had no luck in Joondalup this afternoon - the CATs were running as diesels.

Re: Forrestfield-Airport Link Project

The project website has been subtly changed in the last two weeks. 5 May version 18 May version I just wish they would be honest and upfront about the opening date and as to what these delays are the lack of transparency is quite bothersome. Saffioti was very confident in the line opening by the en...
