Re: STA Observations - July 2017

^Hey Regent III, how do you like your 0500s in comparison to buses like 4854? The contractor who services the door safety systems STUFFED the O500's doors and they are now too slow to open. AEC Decker thinks they have adjusted the door lock out speed of 5kph, using the speedo needle reading ...

Re: STA Privatisation / Franchising

There used to be a spare at BJI, but W depot is only a km away. But a spare bus is no good without a driver, so it can't really be a substitute for late running. AEC Decker did a spare (or work as directed) shift with bus (Leopard of course  ) at Edgecliff Station when on loan to W in 1981...

A near new (well it had new bus smell) 2nd series AEC underfloor in 1962 on a school charter from Bronte Public to Botanical Gardens.
Got dropped off and picked up outside Conservatorium Of Music.
Still can't remember why went there. :?

Some Atlanteans were 14' 4" and some were 4.4m

Well that's what was written in the driver's cab.

Re: STA Observations - July 2017

Noticed 4854 according to fleet lists is a V bus operating a 372 inbound at Coogee. I'm assuming it has been transferred to R or is on loan to R. Probably on loan... I know it has been at Brookvale for a while, but, to be honest, I have been wondering where 4854 went as I haven't seen it for a whil...

Re: Northern Beaches BRT: B-Line to transform Northern Beach

The Northern Beaches they complain about the status quo but if anything is changed they complain. That was AEC Decker's previous point and being Liberal seats, we don't want to upset the apple cart or bus service in this instance. Rumour was, until region 6 privatisation announcement, that Eu...

Instead of referring to the UK which is another society AEC Decker, refer to Perth instead which has an immeasurably better bus operation than Sydney's, operated by three privates. Population Of Perth = 2 million Population Of Sydney = 5 million Population Of London = 8 million (Source Wikipedia, 2...

Perhaps AEC Decker has driven over the IWLR tracks in George St a few times. Or does one mean longitudinally rather than at right angles? Maybe AEC Decker should clarify this  "over ORIGINAL Sydney tram track routes", not 1990's light rail substitute. Hence the reference to O...
