Both JQ's and QF's 787 engines are from the same engine maker, but they respectively have different engines. And while unrelated to engines, JQ also have the 787-8 variant, whereas QF have the 787-9 variant.

Re: Victorian Bus Observations 2024

Spotted onboard Kinetic bus 140 today whilst travelling around Doncaster was a newly installed Consat telematics driver unit and PID screen (similar setup to Ventura), the existing 2nd gen LED PID was still fitted but disabled. Kinetic have been trialling Consat on a very small portion of its fleet...

Re: Kinetic Melbourne Discussion Thread 2022

Amazes me how they've been very quick to put on 'Kinetic' stickers across the fleet, and it's only been day 1 of operations (to be fair though, that process already began before the takeover had actually started). The reason why I'm surprised was because I remember it took days before we started see...

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2021

Earlier this week on Wednesday I spotted non-smartbus Custom Scania #917 on a route 901 to Frankston, a very unusual one to find. Haven’t seen these kind of buses on orbital for a while now so that surprised me. Also rode on bus #591 on route 281 and what I find fascinating is that it still has the ...

Surprised they didn’t do that ages back. A lot of them have been sitting at Avalon Airport for months!

Re: All Other Victorian Bus Observations 2021

To start off Moreland Bus Lines have acquired 2 new gemilangs (BS06JX and BS06JY) for route service. Also the first Gemilang I’ve seen with the Mercedes Benz 0500LE chassis Also 3 new Panorama Volgren Optimuses have entered service in PTV livery just a few days ago (according to the fleet lists page...

Re: Ventura Group Discussion Thread 2021

According to the fleet lists page, Ventura have quite a few on order As per mentioned on the general discussion forum, there’s a few Volgren Queensland buses that will be entering the fleet very soon. All of the, are Arctic buses so I reckon some of them may end up at Rosebud on the route 788, since...

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2021

Also noticed since I have returned from lockdown, that many of the buses that had the full 38xxxx fleet numbers applied, have had the 38 prefixes removed externally, but the newest Volgren Scanias have the long form fleet number applied inside ex 381200. This is very strange because the first few b...

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2021

Anyone else notice that Transdev's twitter account has suddenly become highly active since lockdown and now into the lead up to the future tender. They certainly have. And the details on their tweets are more informative than when they posted route disruptions or incidents a few years ago. They als...

Re: Victorian Route and Timetable changes 2021

I predict the route will most likely be handed to Dysons, but will be interesting to see who ends up running it

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2021

Almost all of the Volgren Volvo’s (ex Grenda’s/East West) in Transdev’s fleet have had their “smartbus” stickers removed and have now permanently moved off orbitals and into non-smartbus routes, with the exception of occasional runs on DART routes. I don’t know whether they still have Smartbus PIDS ...

Re: CDC Group Discussion Thread 2021

On a trip out today I saw one of the 601 Express liveried buses out on CDC route 605.

I don’t know whether it’s rare to see the route 601 route on another Oakleigh operated route or not but thought it seemed a bit unusual
