Re: Driver protection

Question to drivers - is your depot or company still looking at PPE for drivers? It's not just to protect the drivers against the passengers, it is also to protect them from the driver before them. While Covid 19 is not a real issue here in Adelaide, it only takes one or two careless people and it c...

if you like walking, take the Seaford train to Hallett Cove Railway Station, checkout the new visitor information boards which I requested, thanks to City of Marion, call into the 'Your Local Coffee Shop', head down to the coast to the Boardwalk to Heron Reserve, call into the Beach House Cafe, (la...

Re: What to do & see on Adelaide PT!

A good bus company for the hills and surrounds to use is Link SA. Services I have used to link with Metro and Non-Metro services are the 801 from TTP to Lobethal to connect with an 834/835. Also there is a service that runs on school days from Strathalbyn to Murray Bridge (am) and Murray Bridge to S...

Re: [July/Aug 2020] SA transport observations

Back on topic please. SA transport observations. I had a ticket inspector get on my bus today, the fourth in the last two months. On a completely unrelated topic; I think that the number of people that get on the bus without paying their fare appears to be reducing. It will never drop to zero, ther...

Re: HISTORY of ADELAIDE - BUS, TRAIN & TRAM ROUTES

It is an assumption, but the clocks were all about on-time running. I can remember inspectors opening these clocks and checking when each service went passed and punched the clock. I can remember as a kid waiting at such stops, and imagining that I was a driver punching these clocks! My father actua...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

@bigrobbo I don't think it's a good idea to send buses down Churchill road and if people have a problem with that they're not living in reality, Id think I know, I used to live down there and I couldn't even walk to my local service station without somebody trying to jump me, bus drivers used to te...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

I would have just abandoned the Go Zone and provided a 30 minute service (hour at night and weekend) to try and keep a similar service as when Pym Street crossed over South Road. As a past user of the Port Adelaide Enfield Community Bus, those streets around Dudley Park are tight, hence my suggestio...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

Why not get rid of the 230-232 Go Zone and split the routes, so the buses can still service Harrison Rd and Days Rd. One route goes Harrison Rd, r Pym St, l Churchill Rd and l Regency Rd The other goes r Days Rd, l Regency Rd. The route along South Rd, while a smart idea, seems to be isolating many ...

Re: How bus revamp will get commuters moving faster.

Don’t we have a fair bit of this already off peak? Buses connect with each other at TTP and Paradise already. There is no timetabled connections so buses don’t all run late. But, how would you do this East-West? The beach is not far from the city. The hills are very close to the city. I doubt if peo...

2605 was spotted Not In Service heading north on West Tce. Unusual to see one of these buses in the city.

Re: [Mar/Apr 2019] SA Transport observations

Bit of confusion it seems over Easter running times. Nothing is available on line saying if public transport is running to Saturday or Sunday times on Easter Saturday. I rang the infoline this morning. The operator said buses will run to public holiday times on Saturday, only to be corrected by his ...

Re: [Mar/Apr 2019] SA Transport observations

My point was that having got rid of the midis there is now a chance some will return, albeit in the guise of a nice new bus. They'll still be limited in what they can do and this is where a potential future issue lies. Can't see them being big enough for rail sub work and probably wouldn't really w...

Re: Adelaide Bus Network Simplification Ideas

While we have a State Government that clearly wants to save money on Public Transport, and a public that just wants to get one bus from their home to the city (and rely on their cars), we will sadly not get these changes. My biggest fear is that we will have night and weekend route amalgamations lik...

Re: January 2019 service changes

The Mawson Lakes/Main North Road Go Zone is still there on all maps and advertising, but it does not exist in reality. 222 services leave MLI at 4:05pm, 4:31pm, 5:01pm 5:31pm. 6:01pm and 6:18pm. The 228F's still run during this time. So, in theory, from MLI to Main North Rd and then from stop 17 to ...

I am also shocked at the reduced services along the Main North Rd Go Zone on a weekend. The service has gone from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. I thought that passenger numbers were solid along this route.

I don’t understand how the Port Road Go Zone can disappear, yet, the Churchill Rd one stays. Maybe Churchill Rd is not far away enough from a train line I guess.

Re: Buses running to holiday Bus timetables

I just hope that this Christmas, either the Government or Torrens Transit review the decision they made about reduced services. I get that between Christmas and New Year you could wind back peak services to a point, but is should not continue past December 31st.

Re: BUS ROUTES TO BE SCRAPPED IN DRIVE FOR SAVINGS

Isn’t it time we reviewed the whole bus system? Many bus routes have not changed that much since they were introduced. The Le Fevre Peninsula and Port Adelaide area seem to be the whipping area. Yes, there is an excellent train service. But trains run on a fixed line. Port Adelaide Station is not th...

Re: October Bus Timetable changes

What is this obsession with connecting rail/bus services so close to the city? For many people, you would need to get from where you are in the city (Hutt Street, Central Market, South Tce for example) to Adelaide Railway Station, wait up to 15 minutes for a train, then get off and get a connecting ...
