Re: Modern Day Coachmaster UNSW

I mean the taillights on that bus are different to most C222TXs:

Re: Modern Day Coachmaster UNSW

I do prefer that shop-over Coachmaster front on the C222TX - unless the bus has a bullbar on it. C222TXs do look pretty good with bullbars. Also, I assume the taillights were modified? Standard C222Txs as far as I've seen have a different taillight arrangement.

Re: 2021 Melbourne bus retendering

There will be a review of bus services in Manningham (Doncaster and Balwyn) and Whitehorse (Box Hill/Mitcham) as part of the North East Link and associated Busway with new Park & Rides. The state will have primary responsibility for service planning but the operator can propose ideas. As it always ...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

However the above mentioned routes are small suburban feeders. The route proposed by FLOREAT 90 aims to be a large link route in low-patronage/frequency areas, over-servicing some areas while under-servicing some.

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

I don't see the point of connecting the 284 and 201 and then looping it around Wattle Grove. The 284 in itself is already a complex route, and both routes have short operational hours and low frequency. This makes it complex and basically useless - look at Melbourne route 380 for an example. Loop ro...

It is definitely repairable - 2441 and 1850 were involved in an incident 3 years ago, both suffered more damage than 2033 yet both were returned to service.

Re: New Intercity Fleet Purchases/Observation

As to be expected with most things, when comparing the concept design from 2 years ago to the polished product now, the design has improved greatly from an aesthetics perspective. Judging by the testing scene going on, the community feedback and new features, I'd say these trains are definitely read...

Can't speak much for the diesel ones, last experience I recall on a diesel OC was nearly 10 years ago at this point before the diesels in Perth were transferred regional. From recordings I've heard on YouTube, they ran great, and old posts on the ATDB (IIRC) suggest they had great pull power up hill...

Would be interesting to see the August figures Fleet Lists , whenever ready. I do think it's a shame that most of the new users are spammers who have found the ATDB and are exploiting it for their own purposes, however, luckily there are still quite a number of new members that aren't spammers and a...

NHs are somewhat active in Morley, Joondalup and Marmion areas partly as a result of Swan inheriting Transdev's 1220-1230. 1824 & 1825 aren't the only ones for sale. Close to all withdrawn buses from the TP fleet go through Manheim Auctions , where 1509, 1184, 1173 & 1723, as well as 1824 & 1825 are...

3200 and 3201 haven't been delivered yet so don't get your hopes up :P My guess I would say next Tuesday or Wednesday they'll be out. Darn! At least now I do have a rough guess of the day they enter service and when to scope out for them, and I do have 2899 to look for. Will 2780 be replacing 0109?...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

They have been noted in perthbus.info already, 3200 was photographed by Squiddy at Truck Centre Welshpool last week and they are signwritten for Swan. As such I am 95% sure they will join their slightly elder brethren at Beenyup, some of the 3200s may potentially go to Joondalup to replace the last ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

AFAIK 2096 and 2097 moving probably don't have much to do with the new B8s. All the OCs are Karrinyup buses, while the B8s are replacing Beenyup NHs. However, there could be some shifts changing about allowing more Beenyup and Joondalup runs replacing Karrinyup runs and indirectly freeing up 2 OCs. ...

Anyways, aside from that talk and unrelated to anything really political, I witne...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

The B8RLEA is legally licensed, as per most other artics like the B12BLEA, to hold max 110 pax. Of course physically, they can hold more, but in terms of safe operation, that's the cap. The fundamental difference in purpose between double-deckers and artics is that with a single-level and at least 3...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2020

IMO, I think keeping the name of the Blue CAT is odd given that there no longer requires a differentiation between two CATs, although it would be cheap considering the need to replace all the bus stop panels if the name changed. Changing the name back to the old orange Fremantle CAT would probably m...
