Re: Electric trial buses in Canberra.

Awesome shots! Any idea if they'll continue to use these? 710 and 712 are still in service, appearing most weekdays. A second BYD Toro (like 710) numbered 711 has been delivered and is expected to enter service soon. The trial will end in around August, and whether or not TC keep some/all of these ...

Re: Old and High floor ACTION buses still in service

Interesting that the PR100.2 are still occasionally being used on a Saturday. Not for route service work though; some PR100.2s have been out on weekends (and weekdays) lately doing route timings. As far as I'm aware, it has been around 4ish years since the PR100.2s and PR100.3s were last regularly ...

Re: STA Observations - September 2017

I think that could be a possible indicator that the rest of the fleet will indeed be retired not too long off from now. Or, e.g., this idea of "trial failed". I didn't think it looked that bad in TfNSW livery, especially compared to some others (looking at you, Ansair Orana) Isn't 1213 th...

Re: Desto board Alcatel Renault pr180.2

Usually, the wording is EMERGENCY - CALL POLICE. In STA Sydney I believe this could be activated by an emergency button on the floor of some buses. Not sure if this happens on the Alcatel destos, but I believe it does do this for the rest of the fleet. There is a manual input code for something alo...

Re: Desto board Alcatel Renault pr180.2

No problems. :) I believe it might have been you (or another driver at Wisby's) that I've already discussed ex-986's sort of "superiority" in some ways over the other Renault artics you have on a video of 986's final "in service" trip with ACTION which I posted on youtube, haha. ...

Re: Desto board Alcatel Renault pr180.2

Hi there! Well, to get any of those destos on ex 701 or 710 I suggest you use the rollers by pressing the up down switch then toggle through the different rolls using the sideways switch. As for the Alcatel destos in ex 984, 986 and 987, try the following... Press "Enter", Clear prev...

ACTION to the Airport!

It was announced today that Transport Canberra will commence operation of bus services to the Canberra Airport Terminal on March 20, 2017. This is in accordance with the governments promise to deliver a service to the terminal by 2020. Existing route 11 services will divert to the terminal both on j...

It is still yet to arrive - it left Bustech yesterday though (and presumably will stop off at Scania in Sydney for a few days).

Re: Transport Canberra

Where's MB with that nice 100% low floor Citaro artic they were floating a while ago? That was part of the Libs policy...so no Citaro artics given Labor got elected. On the plus side, we have LR coming... :) While I am yet undecided on the Bustech VSTs for here (maybe cause I haven't had a chance t...

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations - JUL > DEC 2016

Thanks for that King of Buses, I will try to get a pic with ex 701, 710, 984, 986, 987 and 897 once they are all registered and inspected. I must admit however after driving 897 from Canberra to Hobart those 100.2's go amazingly well for an older bus. Its any wonder ACTION had a lot of happy driver...

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations - JUL > DEC 2016

Two ex-ACTION Renault buses departed the ACT last Friday for TAS (one PR180.2 [ex-BUS.986] and one PR100.2 [ex-BUS.897]. I expect they've gone to Wisby's like a few other Renault PR180.2's from ACTION. Keep an eye out down there for them! :) Indeed you are correct, both 897 and 986 were driven down...

Re: Who uses the TransitTimes+ App?

These days I find I use Transittimes more often than a hard copy timetable. But then again, most of my travel by bus here in Canberra is pretty much just for fun. Of my 'just for fun' trips, I must say that because of Transittimes, I've been able to find and get a ride on certain vehicles or types o...

A map for the new City loop service is available via the above link through the ACTION website.
It is scheduled to commence on the 4th July 2016 and will (apparently) operate between 0700 and 1900.
