Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2017
Sighted a new Gemilang numbered #128 on the Eastlink Fwy at around 4pm today, didn't catch the rego, but it is in PTV livery. Appears to be the same model as the previous delivery (100-116) but can't confirm.

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2017
I noticed that too and the 903 also has less of them. A few weeks ago I caught the 903 from Northland to Doncaster and back without seeing any Designline or bubble buses during the trip. It seems that they are mainly using their Designlines (both types) on DARTs now and the Scania/Customs are on or...

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2017
Spotted Artic #2000 (Scania K310UA/Custom Coaches CB60 Evo II) at The Pines around 7:45am heading inbound, displaying 'Special' on the desto with an A3 paper stuck to the windscreen: "906X - Limited Stop" Below that it said which stops it skipped and something about the Eastern Freeway but didn't qu...

Bus driver assignments to vehicles
Hello all, I know that a few of you have/do work for a variety of operators around Australia. I am interested to know how bus drivers are assigned to the vehicles that they drive, especially metro runs. Is it a kind-of "first bus in the row" sort of thing or more like a rotation where you are given ...

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2017
Noticed the new #800 (O405NH/Volgren) ran alongside the 8:26 295 from The Pines SC to Doncaster SC this morning (not in service). Bunch of guys with hi-vis vests standing up near the front and presumably a trainee driver.

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2017
Spotted newbie #800 (Mercedes Benz O405NH/Volgren CR221L, ex. DarwinBus) at the back corner of the North Fitzroy depot, which backs onto Scotchmer Street. Noticed that is it numbered as 380800 and says "Shuttle" on the desto. Also noticed that 294 (in the foreground) has a fluoro yellow "Do Not Oper...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
I'm 99% sure it was an Evo 2 anyway, it had the smaller/higher rear windows and one row of backwards-facing seats (on the off-chance it could have been a C-Max/L94UB instead, it still wouldn't have been much of a difference). That would indeed make it a C-Max / L94UB. The early 2007 Scania K230UB/C...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
Spotted bus 117 (Gemilang artic) with a new round white and orange sticker with an 'S" next to the front fleet number, most likely to signify its a smartbus. How hard can it be to tell the difference between white and silver, but then again its a problem of their own making regarding the fleet. Not...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
CDC did not have that BCI for very long. I wonder why they got rid of it so early? Interesting to see Transdev numbering in the 800 series when the other new deliveries are in the 12x series. Probably keeping the Scanias together; the Mercedes buses are numbered in the 700-800 region. Seems logical...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
7 "Yellow" MAN's have gone to Sunshine depot. The move will be permanent until they realise what a massive mistake they made. The 220 is a sardine can in the peaks between Sunshine and Footscray and using a smaller and underpowered bus with a history of unreliability on such a heavy run is a recipe...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
Noticed a few things, it has no loop barriers, and it has an external speaker next to the front door, so it may be equipped and capable for smartbus operations. Saw #380124 and #380121 on 902 duties today. Rode on 121, noticed that they are internally quite similar to the newer Ex. MBL Scania/Volgr...

Re: Transdev Melbourne news July - December 2016
What is the 'major plan'? The unified fleet? Indeed, I understand that some of the Gemilang bodied buses will be/have been transfered to orbital duties. Noticed 116 and 113 on 902s today: 2016-11-24 11.36.55_renamed_28850.jpg 2016-11-24 11.55.42.jpg * Still can't work out how to upload larger files...

Re: All Other Victorian Bus Observations July - December 201
Spotted new Cranbourne Transit bus 71 (Volgren Optimus/Scania K310UB) travelling north along Victoria St in Doncaster. Caught me by surprise as its a long way from its usual area. It passed Westfield Doncaster today at 3:40PM displaying "Mobitec Destination Equipment" on the desto. Maybe getting it...

I also miss the all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut there too, but that's another story. I actually hold out youth group all you can eat Pizza Hut eating record from back in the day - 17 pieces. Re: Rail observations Septembert 2016
The 6 month trackwork calendar on the Sydney trains website has no trackwork between December 15 and January 7. The period between Christmas and New Years Eve, and the first week in January has always had major weekday closedowns in past years. Has there been a change in policy? They know that cust...

Noticed BS02BE (Ex. For example, what is the "Thoreb next stop system" that needs to be implemented on all buses by 31 July 2018? This is the LCD screens that were fitted to the Gemilangs when they were delivered.
