As of the 18th of January, Keoride Mt Barker is being extended to include Nairne and Littlehampton, and will also use the same fare structure as the rest of the MetroCARD network. https://sa.keoride.com.au/coming-soon?fbclid=IwAR3iiM5R5dIZ_S5GKalshAo7Xy9mYQH8B6LuJLc8o8ALFy5audRCA8j3WuA Positive to s...

Re: January 2021 timetable changes

I think the 2020 network was very innovative and would have modernised the system (and finally drag us away from the MTT tram network). I understand the issue of feeder bus services however, and perhaps with some tweaks here and there they could have been modified to create more traffic on them. Fro...

Re: January 2021 timetable changes

Any idea if the changes will involve more than tweaking of time points? I'm thinking that as a new contractor Busways may have some changes they want to implement in the Outer South? Yes, Busways had a large array of changes they wanted to implement. Unfortunately, everyone in Adelaide seems to be ...

[BPASA] 30 years of 14.5m buses in Adelaide

BPASA have recently commemorated 30 years since ex-3306 was introduced to Mt Barker Passenger Service in 1991. This bus was the first 14.5m in Adelaide, and 30 years later we have 17 in service (not including 3306, as it was scrapped in 2014 after major engine failure). More on their website: https:...

Was it the 690? Ran during the day and morning with the RZ19 at nights?

Re: HISTORY of ADELAIDE - BUS, TRAIN & TRAM ROUTES

Good work bigrobbo. There were a few 729F services, they operated from the City via South Rd, then Shepard’s Hill Rd and the Eve Rd loop to Blackwood. Similarly, the 728F ran direct via Shepard’s Hill Rd. These then became the 217 and T217, and are now covered by the G30F. I might just add that befo...

Re: Seaford Bus Depot

I believe buses are rotated through Seaford as there are no maintenance facilities there, in a similar fashion to Aldgate/Mt Barker

So there is no “permanent fleet”, and can change from day to day

Re: January 2021 timetable changes

It would appear that the proposed timetable changes will mainly involve running times-similar to that which occurred last July. I wonder when Adelaide Metro will sit down and properly plan timetables to eliminate excessive time wasting at key check points? Well I believe they we’re going to for the...

Re: November/December 2020 SA Transport Observations

Noticed that the timetables are out for the week between Christmas and New Year. Two routes that will be running got my attention that normally do not run - G40M from Golden Grove to Tea Tree Plaza, and G30 running all stops. In the afternoons they will be displaying G30 from the city. In the morni...

Re: Political discussion

I strongly believe the legal age limit should be at least 21 in Australia Where you should have finished school by that age. 18 in my mind sounds too young, you have school students that turn 18 usually in their final year of school and those beers can sneak into schools where 18 year olds give the...

Thankfully, SAPol do not issue speeding fines for anything (usually) less than 6km/h over the limit. Technically they can give out fines for 5kms too according to this:

Re: Volgren Discussion / Observations

Volgren seem to have always had a random box of tail lights - Adelaide’s CR224Ls have 2 different styles, both of which are different to the CR224Ls in Brisbane. Then there are 3 different tail lights used on CR228Ls

You realise that you can increase the legal drinking age all your like; people under that age will always find a way to get alcohol. Legal drinking age should be 16 so it can be better regulated, and safer for teenagers to get it. I’d rather they were buying proper stuff that’s been made without poi...

I believe the MTT (Adelaide) blocked up the read door after 1 man operation began - easier to prevent fare evasion. But I’ll let someone more knowledgeable on the topic confirm that I’m not sure (besides a few exceptions) we need a rear door on rigids in Australia - low floor and all door boarding i...

Everyone who complained enough for the proposed “New Network” to be canned obviously thinks what we have now is perfect. The forward thinking “headway management”, many, more frequent corridors, and consistent lower frequent routes should have worked well. But Beryl and Edward were going to have to ...
