Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

I think they’ll roll out the same technology for cards as they have on the trams - a reminder that many, many more cities other than Adelaide don’t accept cash fares.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

I’d be interested to see the patronage for Dry Creek station on weekends and nights considering it is in a primarily industrial area. Kilburn station is not central to the suburb, unlike Churchill Rd - again I’d be interested to see patronage from both Mile End station is a waste of time for souther...

Re: Trivia Quiz

Well done! That’s correct

For interest’s sake; Tweedvale was what nearby Lobethal was called. Birdwood (about 30km away) was formerly Blumberg (never changed back), and Verdun was Grünthal. Klemzig in the inner suburbs was called Gaza

Hay Valley is a nearby area, and Bridgewater East was made up!

Re: Trivia Quiz

Thanks! You learn something new every day. I’m far more versed in local history knowledge than general knowledge, so apologies in advance if this question is too ‘local’ to my area. What did the township of Hahndorf get renamed to during WWI? A. Tweedvale B. Bridgewater East C. Ambleside D. Hay Valley

Sorry, the link should be fixed now and hopefully you can open it. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1WCWkLYgMTq5vE_Y5iEWl-0J7lOFFUS4F&usp=sharing That map is correct, it’s interesting that we have a similar loop again today. In other news, 1790 is still sitting at the back of Aldgate depot. Visible from Mt Barker Rd and Ashenden Rd if you know where you’re looking.

3379 ex-2858 has also been on the artic tracks since July, and hasn’t moved

Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

I'd be interested to know which bus this was; all new deliveries that I'm aware of in the last 40 years have been automatic. Unless it was quite a few years ago. So would I 🤔 I've been looking for this bus for a while now it was a good one and Im having problems finding it, The bus had maroon leath...

Re: Odd question - For the people that drive anything big and or old

As an Alfa Romeo and Land Rover owner, I cop a lot from everyone in my life about how “unreliable” both of my cars are. No car is perfect, but both of mine have so far proven very reliable (touch wood). I try to remain open minded with cars, and if someone loves their car I appreciate that no matter...

Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

Recently went past Aldgate Depot and saw a red artic there numbered 3379. Are Southlink renumbering all the artics 2854-2856 & 2858 to 3377-3380? Will 2522 and 2523 return to their original fleet numbers of 3223 and 3224? Can anyone in the hills confirm this? Cheers 2522 and 2523 were renumbered 32...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

From an outsiders view, I think it would make sense for a new route entirely instead of making the 230/232 situation more complex than necessary. 230/232 to remain the same north of Arndale. Then run direct via Torrens Road to the city (decreasing travel time for people who live further out) 231/wha...

Hi Looselion

Just received my copy of your book today. Only read a small amount, but it’d very well written and captivating - easy to read

I am fascinated about the history of Redline, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it very much

Well done
