Re: Bus Museum for Adelaide

We do have a bus museum. It's just that it's not formal, and the public aren't welcome :P And I certainly wouldn't be 'disgusted' with the lack of interest in Adelaide's bus history; there are hundreds and hundreds of individuals in SA who have a keen interest in the subject. And don't ever think th...

Which is why the local preservation scene has seen a sudden boom in bus numbers ;)

Re: "Priscilla" Hino Freighter - What became of her??

Throughout the movie I swear it's possible to hear the Hino engine idling or running from time to time. The engine sounds a lot like the 7 litre EH700 used in AK176/RK176 Hinos etc. Could it be?

540 is indeed preserved by an enthusiast; but we're all still trying to work out exactly who it is.
The owner of 1445 tells me it may be an ex-Adelaide individual who is currently living interstate.

Re: WA's first O405's enter preservation! + Day 1 shots

What a colossal and worthwhile effort to bring those two handsome machines back home! I am suitably impressed! If I wasn't able to buy an ex-STA Volvo B58/B10M in Adelaide, I too would have had to make a long distance trek to get one from Perth. Thankfully I did find one locally! I'd be curious to k...

Re: [Dec 2012] SA Transport observations

About 5pm yesterday, I was on Edward St, waiting a lights at Winston Ave and thought I saw two pure white buses that looked very similar to the B58 Volvos, cross Edward St at South Rd, as well as an 18.280 heading Southbound. Initially thought they were mercs, but they weren't in AdMet livery. Agai...

Re: PMCSA Volvo B58/B10M paperbus pics

These models are very old news now.
I've since started from scratch (in 2009), and now have a much, much crisper and accurate model design developed.
You will have likely seen them on the Volvo B58/B10M Facebook page.

Re: Cardboard buses - STA

Do you use an inkjet or laser printer? I wouldn't have thought glossy paper would work in a laser printer Inkjet. Although I generally don't use the glossy side of photo paper anyway, it somehow detracts from the realism of the model when it's excessively shiny. Still, give it a go and see what you...

Re: Cardboard buses - STA

Photo paper works a treat for making models like this.
It's not too thick for a printer, but it's still quite sturdy compared to paper. Plus you can have glossy models if you do so desire! lol
I build all my models using 'Ditto' photo paper from Big W.

Cyclists indeed Mr. Phonj! I remember coming around a blind corner on Victor Harbor road (which is 100km/h) in an unladen truck and having to lock up the brakes because a cyclist thought it perfectly safe to be cycling along in the middle of the road in such a place. Had I been carrying my usual ful...

This is a model I originally designed for an enthusiast tour on 144 in 2009.
3 years later, and it has surfaced as an entirely 'new' model by someone else.

Re: Hino Dutro what to check before buying

The milk depot I work at has 2 8.5 tonne 2001 Dutros (both with refrigerated bodies), one was used strictly on metropolitan deliveries, and the other is used on country deliveries (100kmh most of the time). The metro Dutro is a complete bag of sh*t, it is always PAINFULLY slow regardless of what sor...
