These new buses in the PTV design have far less Ventura markings on them compared to Bus 1028 from Oakleigh. Don't they want people to know it is a Ventura bus.grenda bus 669 wrote:677 was out and about today, snaped this one up at dandenong station.grenda bus 669

Re: Deakin Cube
The pedestrian bridge between the Burwood Highway Campus and the Elgar Road Campus has been talked about since Deakin took over the old Allambie Children's Home. But it has never been built due to the local community being against it. Building a bridge that could take buses as well as people would b...

Re: Rowville rail start date announced - right after.....
The 703 north of Clayton could be joined to the 901 north of Blackburn to create a new Smartbus route. There has been stories going around about the dropping of Smartbus services along Whitehorse Road, so services will go through to The Pines as Transdev wants, and further to Melbourne Airport. The ...

Re: Melbourne Rail Link - worst idea ever?
The Melbourne Metro Project Plan was done by Sir Ross Eddington after looking at everything that we have now and what future needs could be. The Melbourne Rail Link is a plan by a government that wants to win an election in November. One is thinking of the future needs of the city, one hopes that t...

Re: Melbourne Rail Link - worst idea ever?
http://jwblackboard.com/metro-melbourne-train-map-27.png The new Melbourne Rail Link Plan is a sad attempt to try to put together two parts of the Melbourne Metro Project Plan and eliminate one problem of that project, the digging up of Swanston Street. But what that Melbourne Rail Link Plan doesn'...

Re: Melbourne Rail Link - worst idea ever?
The construction of those platform stops didn't cause enough problems for you. They only allowed footpath traffic and trams through while under construction. If I can remember back to when the City Loop was done only half the street was blocked off and tram tracks were diverted around it. This probl...

Re: Melbourne Rail Link - worst idea ever?
Has anyone in the State Government ever been on a tram from around the University of Melbourne to Melbourne Central? The Melbourne Metro solved this problem by providing access to the train system directly from the University. Watching the new video on Moving Victoria it states that the main problem...

The 'Grentura' references, don't suppose you are referring to a story someone did about the future and they talked about a merger of Ventura and Grendas in the future and the company being referred to as 'Grentura'. This was well before Ventura brought Grendas.

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
The buses on the Route 767 seem to be coming late to often. A few times I have had to wait nearly until the next bus came to get the bus. No, I didn't get the next bus because it was behind the bus I caught. This problem seems to be getting worse and worse for buses going towards Southland. I get on...

Re: Victorian Rail & Tram Observations January - June 2014
Are Yarra Trams trying to bring in a new numbering system for its trams. On the front of the trams to the Grand Prix yesterday there was a 4 or 5 alpha-numeric number on each of the trams. I thought nothing of it until I was on the tram home and saw that the alpha-numeric number was in the computer ...

Re: The trouble with myki
I would like to ask Buzztop if Myki has infact slowed people getting onto the bus and getting off? We were told that Myki was going to be faster that Metcard in regards to validating the ticket. But Myki tickets usually take a few times to actually scan as being valid and passengers having to touch ...

Re: PTV livery discussion
Your pictures are great. However, the design you have used on the bus isn't correct. Have a look at the photo that I put on the PTV livery photo thread of a bus in ptv livery. You may notice that above the windows is actually white before changing to orange. I point this out to make your pictures e...

Re: PTV livery discussion
Here's my take on the Regional PTV livery concept: g77594.png I have made a few things different: the cantrails have full colour instead of being grey with a stripe, there's colour on some of the corrugated panels (albeit solid colour instead of patterned) and the visibility panel beneath the winds...

Re: Victorian Rail & Tram Observations January - June 2014
I said I was happy with the route being labelled Vermont South to Etihad Stadium with Central Pier as the "Extra Special Bonus" Stop. But you couldn't take that. Both routes end at Stop D2-Central Pier. The second last stop on both occasions is called Etihad Stadium, D1 for Route 95 on La Trobe Stre...

Re: Victorian Rail & Tram Observations January - June 2014
I have been on the Route 75 tram during the week and there is nothing printed or written down saying that the route is going to change. I did see something on a 732 bus about the change in route of the 75 tram and the change in timetable to both the 75 Tram and 732 bus. The only indications on the t...

Slight error in the master list. You've listed 744-755. I think it was supposed to be 754 to 755. 744 is painted in the new style as seen in this picture. Thought I would give it a try. I have incorporated the designs from each state into one design. There is the forward arrow design from Sydney and Melbourne, the colours of Adelaide and Brisbane, the line and the mark on the front of Perth buses. I have also included the old Bus Australia logo design...
