Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

I thought the government didn't pay for replacements for privately owned vehicles.

Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

It's likely that the allocation was done based on driver preference.

Scania 1385 was out on a late shift around the beginning of this year during the service cuts, and was also out on a Sunday in late September last year.

Saw this junkie on a bus who had like 7 youngings who all looked to be barely a year apart. The 'mother' was constantly verbally abusing them, and threatening them with violence over very minor misdoings.

And folks wonder why some turn into criminals.

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

The future of PT in Adelaide. On 29/06 this year, I went to Aberfoyle Hub to try and get a ride on an MAN bus back to the city. After the last service being a near no-show (31 mins late, possibly due to a breakdown), one of the 'new' buses turned up on it after I had left. This is just a neutral com...

Being part German, the heat absolutely blows the s**t out of me in Summer - Dubbo was a bloody sweat box earlier this year! A week solid of days over 40C and I only just got through Adelaide has seen heatwaves with 5 days in a row of over 40. This example is a little less extreme, but probably wort...

Then on his Facebook page I find out his car is stolen and it's like how do you get to keep a stolen car and brag about it on Facebook for so long and I tell ya it looked much better 2 to 3 years ago when he first stole it. I was under the impression that stealing a car was, or still is a criminal ...

Re: O500LEs: Great or Rubbish

From my experience, they are ok in the acceleration department, and not as unreliable as some other well known chassis types that operate in Adelaide. In the sound department (matters to a small minority of enthusiasts), even the ones built from 2003 to 2004 are unusually quiet at any speed. But sti...

And from what I can tell, they still haven't fixed the backrest vibration issue with those from 1046 onwards.

If Custom Coaches can provide stable backrests, then why not this company?

Re: Bustech CDI 1790

From what I've heard, it was seen on the 9:06AM inbound T840 today, as well as the 10:14 outbound service. I think it did another (T840(?)) round trip not long afterwards. It was also doing a service from D1 around 3ish, as it had passengers aboard, and then another one at around 4PM (more than like...

Re: [July/Aug 2020] SA transport observations

@Lieselta If you want discomfort, I'd suggest riding any bus from 1973-1999 and 1020 onwards. 1024 is like being in a car along a badly corrugated road. The backrests bounce/vibrate all the time, and you can barely see out of them. But that's perfection for ya. I've heard the 2020 built ones have an...

Re: [July/Aug 2020] SA transport observations

I doubt a bus that is invaluable to TT like this one would be confined to peak only work.

No doubt it will be out as much as possible to provide passengers with the best quality of service imaginable. It's not 1385 after all.

All stops to Gawler Central. What would appear to be a Maglev NL232. Not that any of these buses will exist in 7 years time anyhow.

• BLM protests. • Drivers using high beam lights with on-traffic coming. The can also get in the way of pedestrians. • Taxi drivers that use Bus Zone only bays. • Bus drivers that crawl like a snail, and or especially park at an angle with the back of the bus in the other lane either making it hard...

Annoys me when some idiot boards a bus, and let out a huge cough whilst walking down the aisle with no attempt to cover their mouths whatsoever. During the current crisis it's even worse. Selfish bastards these ferals are. I think the announcements on the trains have no purpose, as at least 75% of t...

Re: [July/Aug 2020] SA transport observations

The following buses(MAN NL 202) are now at Port Depot-246-247-275(ex 2750). 246 was the Serco vehicle involved in that crossing acident in 2002. So I don't think this is smart (re)numbering considering it's an identical build. May trigger flashbacks. Since ex 2724 was renumbered to 2751 after an in...

Report the douchebag! This fella sounds like he's high on something, or out of his mind. But in reality, most buses in Adelaide are governed to 85kph (even some MANs). If you remember the bus number and which day and time it was, then dob him in ASAP. You could even report it to the police due to ex...
