Re: Bus Observations 2024.
And many Busways Penrith vehicles are still running around with Blacktown accreditation, even though some have never been based outside of Penrith. I don't believe accreditation stickers matter too much, as long as the right company is stated on the side. And if I recall correctly, prior to 2010 or...

There are cantilever overhead wire supports set up between Macarthur and a siding south of where the line goes under the Hume motorway at Managle Park

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
Why does this B12BLEA CB60 recall only effect region 8 when there is 22 in region 7 12 in region 9 with 1668 being in region 3 exclusive to the T80 and 1701 in region 6 Go back and read the bottom post on page 30 of this thread. It's not just region 8. 1668 is out on the road everyday they can repl...

Re: Rail Observations 2024
What’s happening on the main south line as I spotted two stand by coaches parked at Campbelltown station the Trainlink regional coach replacement signage is placed at Campbelltown station stand C and a empty XPT departed Campbelltown platform 3 at around 6:40 this morning heading north with the trai...

At least the major parties here don't do the voter register thing like what the majors in America do Mind explaining more as I have no idea what you are referring to (genuine interest, not loaded question) I watch a lot of American news via Foxtel and I hear a lot about people over there being regi...

Re: Southern Highlands Line Trackwork Improvements
The CAF trains would be perfect for trailing a direct to Central intercity service for the Hunter line They're obviously fully allocated to western and southern lines and possibly south coast. No plans to replace the Hunter railcars, let alone extend that service. The number of intercity CAFs would...

Re: Southern Highlands Line Trackwork Improvements
I've seen comments on social media asking for the southern highlands line to be electrified between Macarthur and Picton then continue it to Moss Vale with a 2 stage idea similar to the way the government electrified the south coat line between Wollongong and Kiama where they did Wollongong to Dapt...

Re: Southern Highlands Line Trackwork Improvements
There are a lot of communication failures and broken down freighters on the southern highlands line for the line to be reliable they have to fix the cause of the communication issues that close the line sometimes

Re: Southern Highlands Line Trackwork Improvements
One would hope Menangle Park joins the T8, even if only as an Emu Plains style service. Somehow I doubt it will happen. Menangle itself is some considerable distance from Macarthur and will likely not have anything there worth serving with an electric service for a very long time. I've seen comment...

Re: Southern Highlands Line Trackwork Improvements
Sometimes there just isn't the demand. We are seeing that on some of the region 7 services as noted here . Running SHL services through to Central wouldn't save 25 minutes. Part of the reason the 08:36 from Moss Vale to Central is 25 minutes quicker than the preceding 07:54 and following 09:22 with...

Re: Political discussion
Not all Greens candidates are progressives trying to fill Labor Left's position; there's still quite a lot of old-school tree/whale/anti-carnist groups in there. When the choice is between conservative austerity under Labor of all parties or a police state under the Liberals I will put both in the ...

Re: Political discussion
Labor to me look pretty much in the middle, neither left nor right nowadays. The Liberals are close to the centre, but a bit more to the right than Labor on most issues. I don't see anything to justify calling them "Christofascist authoritarians" though, other than maybe Scott Morrison's ...

Re: Political discussion
So, Greens and Labor duopoly then? The current lot are an oxymoron as far as party names go. Current Labor are conservatives, the Liberals are Christofascist authoritarians, and the Greens are becoming labour-left and less about hugging trees and verbally abusing omnivorous humans for daring to exi...

Re: Political discussion
As for multiple voting, in this day and age this simply shouldn't happen and we have the technology to do so. No other system would be in use today that would be so cumbersome. Provide ID for which almost every adult over age 18 has and move on. If they are standing there in the bikini straight fro...

Don’t give China any ideas for flooding Australia with electric buses as they are already flooding Australia with EVs They already are mate And that being said, while the Volgren BYDs are abhorrent (from what I've experienced) the Yutong E12s are going really well - particularly the ones with Punch...

Re: Bustech Discussion / Observations
Hopefully any vehicles manufactured under the new ownership of GoZero will still have similar build quality to existing VSTs which are constructed to a very high standard. It would be a shame to see the Australian bus industry shift away from quality furnishings to cheap fittings which would signif...

Re: Political discussion
There should be stricter rules when it comes to early voting something like people need to give a valid reason why they doing it there and why they can’t attend their local polling place to vote on election day If we're going to have mandatory voting (or rather the system of just showing up to a po...
