Kind of old news - that was in the September Australian Bus Panorama. Happened from 27 July.

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

An article in Driven suggested that regional NSW may be a good location to set up a manufacturing plant for electric buses to meet the proposed 8,000 new ones mooted for Sydney over however many years. Queanbeyan was suggested as a possible location. Very much a wait and see thing I reckon.

Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

TT - as I understood it the full line closures, when more buses are required, are to be during the school holidays so Link SA buses would be available. If on school days then you still have a number of coaches available from the various Adelaide charter operators - i.e those not allocated to private...

It went kaboom. That tends to happen when you run a bus with no oil in it and control says keep going.

Re: [Sept/Oct 2020] SA transport observations

Rather than use aging urban buses, why not use a mix of metro and modern school coaches from Link SA and others. As long as there is one or more low floors in each "train" of buses there are no DDA issues.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

The next batch of Perth CATS will almost certainly be either electric or hydrogen after they see the results of the Joondalup trial. That would suggest standard length but perhaps a few less seats.

Re: Buslink Sunshine Coast to become CDC South East Queensland effective 1 October 2020

Buslink was hardly a Qld business. The previous owners were Hannans from Darwin with some operations previously part owned by the Lucas family from Victoria. CDC took over the Hannans interests and the Lucas family withdrew from the partnership to focus on their original operations in Vic and SA.

Surely an equally significant part of the announcement, not reflected in the thread name, is the first noted use of Custom Denning as the new brand name for the combined operations.
