Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019

The Bs are out as a result of recent trespasser off platform vs train incidents which have shone light on an issue with the way some of the A's front windscreens are bonded. While this is being addressed (it will take a while) surplus Bs are plying Armadale/Thornlie links which run non stop through ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2018

There's certainly no disagreement as to who is footing the bill... both parties have been waiting on an independent engineer to report on what repairs are necessary. 47 was in the shed on eight road last night. She happily gets around under her own steam. The B series rotating in and out of Claisebr...

Re: Transperth Train happenings

I have no idea. Could be chasing yellows, running ahead of table, different crew. Worked through there earlier today at track speed.

Re: Transperth Train happenings

Building this stowage road would mean that there will be some disruptions to Armadale/Thornlie Services. Clearly I think it will take time to construct this. It clearly states that the stow roads will be constructed over a 12 month period with little disruption to commuters with the standard night ...

Re: Transperth Train happenings

As a result of the Armadale line and Thornlie line timetable change platform 1 is no longer in use at Armadale station and Armadale C# pattern services no longer go back as a Thornlie T. One platform is still in use at Armadale. I used it on Monday. It is not being used as often, however. I also ma...

Re: Transperth Train happenings

The services are working the table to Butler, minus passengers. The only services going into Nowergup's southern entry are heading off traffic directly from Clarkson. Driver familiarisation is taking place.

Cheers,

Just so you're all aware, neither series has been retrofitted with a 'selective door opening system'.

Re: Perth city link project

You're on the money there Mr Benz. The turn around capacity's limited at Claisebrook hence the need to cancel Thornlie services.

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

Correct, didn't make it down owing to the lack of overhead until later in the morning to stable at Claisebrook, and return to Clarkson on it's correct link. It's out today buzzing around though.

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

I Also can anyone tell me how they managed the Fremantle line during the shutdown and where they kept all those trains? jonwil, Cars were stabled at West Leederville and Fremantle. Re: WA Transport Questions thread

The last service the B will make from Thornlie is the 1119. It will then work empty to Clarkson to make the 1233 back to Perth.

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

Plan is for all lines to be programmed into the internal communications system come Monday, whether this happens or not is anyone's guess. I'll follow the railcar's link again tomorrow morning. It hangs around a lot later than we were initially told. I think I manage to get one round trip in it next...

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

For those interested, the rogue B on the Thornlie line will work empty from Nowergup each morning to make the 0519 to Perth. It will continue up and down all morning, before returning to our northern cousins. Begins Monday morning if everything is pieced back together in time.

It is... just in less words

In unrelated news, get ready for a B series working Thornlie services beginning September. AM peak at this stage. (date subject to City Link stage completion).

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

Wheels spin like hell and ruin them, then driver hop's out and put sand on the tracks( not too sure, as that's used for steam locos ) and if that dosen't work, it is then deemed a fail, so MA1862( I think it's the number ) comes and shunts it. This is a pure guess, so someone may correct this. Chee...

Re: WA Transport Questions thread

Ade, Come out with me and I'll show you why. In a nut shell, we drive to the conditions. It might only be 1mm of rain but the rail head is very slippery. Unfortunately this compounds during the day while it remains wet. Throw a peak period in there and quite often things can be 10 minutes plus late....
