Re: PTA Transperth Observations - December 2015

These newer buses are for all-running and have smoother/better transmission too (6-speed). As time goes by and the branding is more familiar it will more than likely diminish in importance, as have all other similar bus-branding campaigns. It is gradually (already) being incorporated into normal run...

Re: Transperth service changes - 2016

Perhaps while the PTA are simplifying route numbers...why not renumber the 886-7-9 to 356-7-9 (or whatever) and boost the efficiency of the trunk with a 9xx number? A mini interchange could be installed at a common point near Beach Road, and as per the proposed 930 (210-1-2) services, through-route ...

Re: Obscure & forgotten services/other - who remembers?

No I think the 32 (KP) must be a strong residual idea you had back in the day AB. Memories? The 72 in a linc at Cott and of course the 200!
I still recall seeing a 32 Booragoon ext arrow on the corner of Canning & Thelma somewhere or thereabouts

Re: Transperth service changes - 2016

Wishful for sure but unfortunately that's the plan. I agree with your wish....a CAT to link the two, possibly something bi-directional that incorporates the Terrace (bit like the old Red Clippers). Ideas are endless dreams lol

Re: Transperth service changes - 2016

220 basically replaced the Albany Hwy (Vic Park) services that were withdrawn....8 to 13.

Other services that will return to WSBS are the 30, 31 & 34. So, anything that ran there and was curtailed at the Busport will resume when WSUBS becomes operational.

Re: The Next Station is...Elizabeth Quay

It defies logic doesn't it? The first reference to this stupid term applied to the current MB Rd location, and like it or not is part of the local vernacular. So why on earth mention or use "busport" for WSUBS? It is the WSBS as it always was. I hate the word but to have it used in another location ...

Re: The Next Station is...Elizabeth Quay

More jargon.....just call it Elizabeth Quay, where there happens to be a bus and train station at that locale. Does Circular Quay need CQ Ferry Terminal, CQ bus station and CQ railway station.
I swear this generation have no idea how to think clearly...it's pathetic

Re: Transperth service changes

I suppose it serves as a (really) short turn for the 310/311/312 corridor. Really should go to Viveash now instead of Swan Districts though, so that buses going further afield don't need to divert so far off their route. That's a good idea.....308 Viveash ONLY or 349 could deviate too....let the ot...

Re: The Next Station is...Elizabeth Quay

I think you'll find that the average person couldn't care less - to them, city means Perth. or more rightly Perth means City In a similar vein, often when I drove a 106 to Fremantle, I would be asked are you going to town? I'd say, No you need to go to the other side of the road. You can tell I gre...

Re: The Next Station is...Elizabeth Quay

Sorry about that. I quickly threw the list together to make the point that in what is generally known as Perth there are over a dozen 'cities' which means putting up 'City' on the desto is meaningless. Truly! Then the next stage could be 34 Cannington, via South Perth City, suburb of Como.....72 Cu...
