Re: Difficult right hand turns for bus routes
Do any drivers think the left-turn from Hanson onto First Ave, leading into Arndale Interchange needs looking at, especially with an artic. Then First Ave itself is a bit of a nightmare. Maybe fairly common and unlikely to be re-modelled ?

Re: July 2023 AdMet timetable changes
The updated pdf for the 300 route is Version 27, 24 July'23. At Station Info yesterday, they gave me v26, 1 May'23, entitled Temporary Timetable. That means I guess that both versions are the same and that v27 is the definitive one ? The July 24th versions of the 300 and 190 aren't mentioned in Adme...

Re: Plans for Port Dock Interchange
I asked about this at Port Info earlier this year and was told it's a non-starter. Sue Close had recently reaffirmed that it was getting close to kick-off, the beginning of the works. Has there been any official announcements either way during 2023 ?

Re: July 2023 AdMet timetable changes
The 300 timetable has also updated again from the earlier 2023 provisional one. I can't see this mentioned in Admet's notifications as with the others. Timetable update notices are slotted in amongst all the other news instead of having a dedicated spot that could provide any updates at a glance. De...

Re: [Jan-Jun 2023] SA Transport observations
Sad, once again a small to-do between driver and passenger. No, I DID ring the bell. Asian student on the 230 going up. She was quick to call out and driver asked her to ring it again but lost in translation. He's able to pull up sharply. Something about the hardware. Is there a German brand?

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread
Thanks for that - above. My old wall map of 20? years ago showed the 822 dropping into the Wildlife Park. So it seemed that nothing went to Lofty till the 823. Buses wound their way up the Mt Barker Rd to ... Barker, or Bridgewater?, as with the train back then. Perhaps Lobethal too . Today the syst...

Re: [July-Sep 2022] SA transport observations
Old news I know but the circular bus stop request bells are very dodgy. On an artic route 864f outbound on Friday I gave two hard presses after pulling away from stop 13. I got my day pack on and unable to see anything on the little screen, pressed another button just to confirm as we approached the...

Advert coverage of buses - are we the only state with total coverage? Strewth. They want people to start using buses. I'm on 1251/147 and every window bar 3 of the 16 is covered with ads. Are things that desperate? Surely they could do the trains as well. Doesn't it occur to them that part of bus t...

Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
I was on the train platform at Port Adelaide yesterday. It was pretty wet. A lady in her thirties asked me to confirm for her that she was on the right one for going into the city. I've often remembered that it's the same side as if driving a car. But we had a quick look at all the prominent signage...

Thanks. So for the time being the driver plays an essential part in confirming correct validation.
But it happens on O-Bahn routes where timeliness is of the essence.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread
Middle door boarding. In the city, preparing to board buses heading to the Port via Arndale, I look in vain for the middle door entry option. They still seem to be as rare as hen's teeth. Perhaps they're more on east and south destinations where fare evasions might be less of a issue? Are the centr...

Re: What to do & see on Adelaide PT!
I guess we're going to have a lean run for awhile till things are a little more back in the black. Weekend options for the Gardens would be good. People already enter at the upper entrance using PT. The Hills are an under appreciated gem but some would say just as well. The route chosen for the 822 ...

Alberton Station refurbishment Earlier in this thread there's mention of Adelaide's surviving, historic railway stations - the few. So the present refurbishment of Alberton Station makes sense. It's one of the best but has been hammered with graffiti. Little damage otherwise. Barber Frank's has bee...

Re: What to do & see on Adelaide PT!
Best Adelaide Hills bus circuit. I did a great, two and a half hour Hills circuit on Thursday - around two of our best known parks and through some of the best, historic (old buildings) parts of the Tiers country. The city 822 bus at 2.30 takes you all the way to Stirling, heading up precipitous Gr...

Re: New smart tram and bus stops to be installed
That's a very smart looking and spacious bus stop going up outside Edmund Wright House on King William St. It seems to have left out a glass panel so people can enter from the rear as well. That bench seat may quickly become a bunk tho'. The 254 route is often crowded. Electro board is on the way I ...

Re: Mad March Extra Tram and Bus services
A welcome addition to bring the Port along but seeming to be a spur line to nowhere unless you're heading for the Courts, which are a popular destination. But there's the Dock 1 development. The station might be like the one at Grange or Station Pier tram stop in Melbourne. Vinnies is about to reloc...

Re: Mad March Extra Tram and Bus services
The new, upgraded Port station is a great improvement on what was there earlier with a modern look to match those in the leafies. Our biggest problem is vandalism so everything has to be "hardened" with this in mind and it's done well. But any fancy extras will be smashed. One of the new e...

Re: Mad March Extra Tram and Bus services
Thanks TT. The first place we look is the board itself and the board said they're on their way, as I noted. Once that's clear then any other signage, amongst the myriad of advertising etc becomes an optional extra should it be noticed. I didn't see them but I normally catch this 147 at the Currie st...

Re: Mad March Extra Tram and Bus services
Just a note about the car race and alterations . The 147 went past us thismorning as we waited at the Hindmarsh Sq stop. It was out bound at 8.15am and turned into Pultney instead of going on to East Tce. The reason we were waiting was because the electronic board was telling us to, up until the bus...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?
Any vending machine alone on a platform in Adelaide, particularly west and north lines would be quickly and repeatedly vandalized. Same has happened with the new auto info boards in the city - smashing of the glass. We don't have the customer numbers to afford an effective monitoring and response sy...
