Re: Bus Observations 2024.
I visited the area concerned at about 10.15 this morning with 3 buses parked there none of which I had seen before. Photos taken of al three. The one bus which could be identified in the article I had seen before but was not there. So a fifth one is still to be identified.
I now have taken photos of 13 of these buses in the last three months.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
TfNSW accreditation conditions stipulate that the operator must have nominated off street parking for all their vehicles.iamthouth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 10:11 pm TfNSW spokesperson is wrong and council is right. State road, TfNSW decide.
Turning on the State Roads reference layer on https://maps.transport.nsw.gov.au/egeom ... ccess-bus/ shows that.
Lynch is also right, the spots are not line marked, so longer vehicles can park. Residents or car owners do not have a higher right to the parking there.
Street parking is regulated by traffic acts/regulations which can be enforced by councils regardless of whether state or local. Generally vehicles over 4.5 t GVW are limited to 1 hour.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
Universal Bus Service is a name only registered 12/2/2022 and as all the buses concerned were registered after that date, it looks as though they would not have operated with Maianbar Bundeena Bus Service under their current registrations.
XO89IG which is the bus that carries the Maianbar identification caried the TV 1110 registration from 2019 to 2022 which does appear to have been with Maianbar.
XO05IH ex TV319A, XO80IH ex TV320A and XO81IH ex TV321A may also have been in that situation.

Re: Bus Observations 2024
That is my understanding. But if the buses are not displaying accreditation details, are they accredited at all? If Universal are performing work for the Department of Education as indicated, they would need to be accredited. Bit of a faux pas from Maianbar Bundeena BS to not remove its accreditation before disposing of a bus. Bit like selling a car or vacating a property, you make sure that all the relevant authorities are aware that you are no longer the owner / lessee.boronia wrote: ↑TfNSW accreditation conditions stipulate that the operator must have nominated off street parking for all their vehicles.

No mention of the Department of Education. They are probably dealing direct with schools who may not be aware of accreditation requirements.

Re: Bus Observations 2024
Maybe not government schools per se, but schools that are probably majority government funded, not GPS or similar. Speaking of which, it appears that Kinetic has lost its long held Scots College work, with a few North Sydney Bus Charters vehicles stabled in the eastern most platform at Edgecliff Interchange during the day this week as Kinetic vehicles previously did. Kinetic, or Marrickville Bus Lines as it was then, has held this contract since ABC Coachlines when bust in the late 1980s, and was the beginning of its transforming from a route operator with a handful of buses to the 70 vehicle charter operator its is today.
Operators parking buses in streets causing problems with the locals is nothing new. Recall North & Western stabling buses on the streets of Gladesville was a constant issue for the local council in the 1990s. The operator had purchased a site next to the State Transit's Ryde depot in Buffalo Road, but the council wouldn't approve the development application, so it just went around in circles for years.

Bowden's Tamarama was another operator who got the ire of locals with a few of his buses often parked along Carrington Rd at the top of Queens Park.Linto63 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 11:16 am Operators parking buses in streets causing problems with the locals is nothing new. Just heard on the radio that Transit Systems have won the Bankstown line conversion bus replacement contract
Re: Bus Observations 2024.
No surprises there, biggest operator in Sydney with heaps of buses and drivers. Even then they’ll still said there will be shortages for the closure, so most likely they’ll draft in other operators too.Campbelltown busboy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 4:22 pm Just heard on the radio that Transit Systems have won the Bankstown line conversion bus replacement contract

Re: Bus Observations 2024.
Transit Systems would have enough buses to do the contract even if they need to have to dead run buses between Sydenham and Smeaton Grange but they could only use all 4 region 6 depots along with Bankstown and South Granville for buses with Hoxton Park and Macquarie Fields as stand by for if those 6 depots don't have enough busesBAMBAM wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 5:23 pmNo surprises there, biggest operator in Sydney with heaps of buses and drivers. What impacts will this have on 870/871/872, buses get cancelled without notice with no info on the apps.

In theory It would not have anymore impact on these routes than on any other routes but what will happen is anyone's guess.boxythingy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 11:15 pm What impacts will this have on 870/871/872, buses get cancelled without notice with no info on the apps.
As stated some services or routes will be outsourced to other operators. As long as it is not too much to U-G Mobility as this could give them another excuse to further postpone the return to full timetables.

There was another swap at Port Hacking Road but all had a previous photo taken,
At The Kingsway there was a fourth bus today XO89IG of which I had a previous photo which does not show the Maianbar accreditation it carries. But in the windscreen it still showed its previous rego TV 1110.

The only other bus on which I have seen the Maianbar accreditation is XO03IH of which I took a photo on 6th December but has not been seen at either Port Hacking Road or the Kingsway.
