Each city should stick to what it does best. Perth does trains best. An underground line from Scarborough Beach to Curtin Univ and beyond would do wonders for activating this corridor, compared to what would still basically be a low-capacity, slow bus locked into proprietary technology - and Chinese as well.
Build that line automated with PSDs too, like Sydney Metro, take Perth's rapid transit rail to the next tech level.
