Upcoming BCSV events:

Upcoming tours:
Volgren Dandenong - February 2019
Volgren management has given permission for BCSV: Bus and Coach Society of Victoria members to have guided tour of their Dandenong plant in early February next year, our first visit in over 25 years.

Fifty new Euro 6 Hybrids for CDC, and an order of 15 new 12.5 metre buses to be built on a Man RC-2 chassis for Skybus, will be under construction at the time of the tour. Members will be given an insight into changes made under the new ownership of Marcopolo.

As with previous visits to Volgren, it is likely to be an early evening visit at the end of a shift, with a special pick up/drop off bus connecting at Dandenong Station.

The exact date and time of the visit will be determined in November when Volgren’s shift arrangements have been finalised. A Facebook event page will be created when the date & time is confirmed.

This tour will be a “Strictly Members Only” event with pre-bookings required. The visit will be limited to 40 attendees, with a possible extension to 50, depending on demand.

Members who are unable to attend the AGM may nominate a proxy by way of a form which clearly identifies the name of the member’s proxy and is signed by the member.

To assist members, an example proxy form has been created but the use of the form is not a requirement.

PDF - http://bcsv.org.au/wp-content/uploads/N ... 18-AGM.pdf

Proxy forms should be declared by your nominated proxy at the commencement of the AGM.

They can also be forwarded to The Secretary, Bus & Coach Society of Victoria, PO Box 33, Caulfield East, 3145 to arrive by Wednesday 12th September.

Its not 25 years since the last visit to Volgren, however the last couple of visits may have been led by Bill Kingsley's former CIT group with BCSV involvement rather than being an actual BCSV event.

That's right, Bill Kingsley organised the last visit 20 years ago in 1998 for the CIT. A limited number of places were made available to BCSV members. The last BCSV organised visit to Volgren was organised by the late Ian Johnson about a decade earlier. The point is, it is a long time ago which indicates how rare such visits are. It's why it is being run as a "BCSV member only" tour.

Actually you’re wrong there. The last visit organised by the late Bill Kingsley was in 2005 or 2006. The morning was Volgren and the afternoon was somewhere in the Dandenongs. I remember ringing up Bill to join the Volgren bit. The first batch of Melbourne Airport carpark scanias were just being completed building.

Yes, you are correct. Looking at some past Timetables, Bill organised a PTG tour to Puffing Billy/Volgren sometime in June 2006.
