May I ask, are any of the hills K360UA Scanias governed to 85kph, or can they do 100? I recall 2856 only reaching around 85 on the Southern Expressway in 2014, but I'm curious if it's max speed has been reverted to 100 to allow for this one and others to have more flexibility on the freeway.

Why does the Tonsley Line curve to south west at the end? Was the line meant to go further?
Next station is Victoria Square. Change here for all trains.

Mt Lofty and the wild life park are part of Adelaide's few unique draw cards, the Lofty Bot.Gardens too. Equal to the Central Mkts and way in front of the much touted Wine Centre and Casino.
But there are only three buses a day to and from them, a genuine disincentive to visit. Is there any chance of better services in future, perhaps a smaller, more regular 823 bus to and from Crafers along Mt Lofty Summit Rd?

Such a smaller, nippier service might make it possible to more easily get up and down to Uraidla, the lower Botanics entrance and even the odd spur to Lobethal, patrons able to return by the main route.

Eventually Smart phones might help connect passengers to the route providers.

It would only be implemented at the expense of other existing services.

It won't surprise me if we eventually see a split version of the 443 from Munno Para instead of the 440, 441, and 442 running all at once at half hourly intervals, as well as the 645 and 646 possibly being combined into one service, or even scrapped entirely, as the existing 265, 640, and 734 services are within walking distance of many stops served by these routes.

The existing 645 and 646 services carry very few passengers-these routes are over serviced.

I can see little changing until the new contracts for service provision are signed and implemented. Only then new concepts and technologies (such as Bridj - https://www.bridj.com/) may come into play.

I have wondered if the 645/646 are really beneficial since being split from the old 243/246/247/248. The 645/645 wouldn't have good stats being such a short distance. I wonder if it may be worth re extending the (now M44) and 248 to serve the Seaview Downs/Seacombe Heights area or even adjust the surrounding 640 services (265 probably long enough already) to fill the gaps.

Would definitely like to see more 823 services given the popular destination

Agree that we wouldn't expect to see much happen for a while though.

The 645-646 route was previously operated by buses to and from the M44,but was stopped because it was tying up O-Bahn buses, especially in peak hours when they could be better utilised elsewhere, where there was a demand and good loadings. Now the occasional O-Bahn bus does these routes in off-peak times,

Middle door boarding.

In the city, preparing to board buses heading to the Port via Arndale, I look in vain for the middle door entry option.

They still seem to be as rare as hen's teeth. Perhaps they're more on east and south destinations where fare evasions might be less of a issue?

Are the centrally located validators still being rolled out?

This will only apply to buses on O-Bahn routes.

Thanks. So for the time being the driver plays an essential part in confirming correct validation.

But it happens on O-Bahn routes where timeliness is of the essence.

Why does bus 1734 have what looks like a cheap-ass homemade pantograph attached?

Midi 1734 was used (by Torrens and Southlink) to check overhead clearances for safe operating conditions for the two double deckers. It had been used out of Mile End and Aldgate depots on an occasional basis for the last 5 years or so (how long has 1790 been in service?) but I don’t think has been moved from its spot in Mile End now for at least 6 months. The overhead structure is about the same height and width as the deckers.
