Enjoyed the pics Denv12....
The 707 and 727 over the US scenery were almost being naughty! Perhaps they were being naughty....
And the second last a/c was a Convair Metropolitan.
First pressurized airliner in Aussie skies in the late '40's, originally with TAA.
Memories....

The supposedly ex TAA DC3 is VH-DAS ex VH-AEO, DC3/C47DL (6051) which was operated by TAA for a government department, the carcass of it resides at Kuranda,Nth. Qld,I photographed it a couple of days back, the history of it is easy to find on the net.

I remember it had some other roll despite it being in TAA livery. Is it the same one that was at "McDonalds" at West Lakes which was used for dining back in the 1980s?

It was a survey aircraft modified by Fairey, but had flown early passenger services for TAA as VH-AEO, it's got Department of Lands on the side just behind the wing, plus has 3 astrodomes, you should see the top and a side one. It got sold to East West then Travmar then got final use being dumped in the ocean off Cairns for a "crash" for the awful movie Sky Pirates and is now displayed as a rotting carcase at Kuranda Nth. Qld.
The McDonalds one was VH-EWE ex Racovolis Providores operated by IPEC, it appeared in the Banana Airlines movie with the Alvin Purple actor,Graham Blundell.
Unfortunately it had gone by 2002 when I was in Adelaide,it went West, not to be confused with another DC3,same rego that's preserved in Connellan Airways livery.

If my memory serves me right two types of Convair operated here: the CV-240, which TAA bought and used (and also was a weakling when it came to handling Mach speeds at high altitudes), and the bigger CV-340 (which Ansett and its subsidiary companies bought and used). According to my sources the last Ansett one was withdrawn by the time the 70s started-I believe TAA quickly withdrew their Convairs as soon as it got its turboprop F-27s.
