QOCS Tour: Warwick & Stanthorpe Operators - Part 2
Part 2 features our visit to the Crisp's operation in Stanthorpe.
First up is the lemon of the fleet - a 1999 ABM bodied Mercedes Benz OH1421.
Acquired in 2007 was this ex Reservoir Mercedes Benz OH1316.
The most recent acquisition is this MAN 3 axle Coach Design from the Moreland Group in Victoria - which ironically had bought it new, on-sold it, only to takeover the company they sold it to!
Still operational is this 1981 Custom Coaches Bedford YMT3 ex Harris Park which was only registered circa 1985. It is one of only two Bedfords in QLD still operating school services.
An early purchase from Keith Wales' operation in NSW was this 1984 PMC bodied Mercedes Benz OH1316.
Enjoy!

My old stomping grounds.
OH1421 despite being the lemon is one of most comfortable bus there that they use for school runs (The other being an older coach in similar livery I don't remember it) The most memorable bus however was an old rattler that looked similar to the bedford. Catching that to school in the severe storms Stanthorpe for hit with 6years ago meant the inside resembling a swimming pool. Any kind of movement from the bus would result in a torrent of water coming towards you.
Also was the big beast not there? The Double Decker? The lucky kids from down Wallangarra/Jennings way got her as a school bus.

The Decker is long gone - was withdrawn from Dale's fleet early this year.

Oh no, any particular reason? In school we always wished that we got it for school excursions.Hornibrook wrote:The Decker is long gone - was withdrawn from Dale's fleet early this year.

From memory it was at 25 years and no point extending it any further, so it was sold for a motorhome.MrSheaQuinn wrote:Oh no, any particular reason? Sorry mate, I've exhausted every resource I have and have come up with nothing. Im heading down that way to visit my family in a few days but if she's sold then most likely won't be at the depot. Best I can find is a google streetview where you can see her down the back in the shed.captainch wrote:is there any pics of it in service thanks.
