Things have changed in the USA, here are 2 photos of Times Sq. taken in April'13 when my friend Bill East from Interline & I were in New York. :shock: :lol:

Trams to us and trolleys or streetcar to the yanks is there term for tram. :mrgreen:

That's because it's not Times Square but FlatIron, about 20 blocks south of Times Square.

The original New York Times building now no longer exists.

I am always intrigued when you look at these photos taken from the turn of the Century up to the 50s 60s how there is a distinct lack of obese people.

That was the era before packaged and junk/fast foods.

People ate meals prepared from the basic ingredients and only ever drank soft drink on special occasions.

Now they buy packaged food, visits fast food joints several times a week and drink soft/energy drinks daily. Even developing countries these days are suffering from increasing cases of obesity for the same reasons.

Here's a challenge. Have a look at your supermarket docket. How many food items on it have a mark against them indicating GST is charged on that item? Ask yourself - did I really need to eat that food item? What can I buy instead of it?

BASIC food items do not attract GST, therefore your challenge is to buy food that does not attract GST, and your health will be much better for it.
