I'm sure that for interstate people there is hopefully a cheap way to get here.

There are plenty of airlines.

I've been working on the basics of the itinery today... I'd like to have a sixth bus out but this all depends on interest and if so it would probably be one from somewhere we haven't mentioned yet (Not Adelaide, Not Melbourne, Not Brisbane, Not Sydney) unless we really want to get one from a repeat city.

More details will come soon but if there are any suggestions or any problems please don't hesitate to ask myself or PoweredByCNG.

Hi guys again,

I was stoked to hear from PoweredByCNG when I was told that we got the all clear from BusWest. This means the tour will go ahead regardless of the amount of people who will come and we can keep the cost to a minimum if lucky. The BBQ will still go ahead and we may even get a depot visit. There will be six buses out in total for the day with three volunteer drivers already available for the day.

Locations of where we will be going will be consulted and suggestions are much welcome.

We will almost likely get the buses we want for the day plus the extra bus. Unfortunately the ex TP merc won't be available however we'll replace it with an even better bus. The extra bus will most likely be another artic from Adelaide but with Adelaide livery.

We will also be changing the date of the tour from February to late January.

An Itinery and other details will be on the way as mentioned...

Any other questions please PM me or PoweredByCNG

Due to large amount of interests I have now set up a list to add names to for people "interested" (People that are interested in coming but are not 100% sure yet), "Coming" (For people who are interested and will be coming unless something happens which means they cannot come), "Confirmed", (For people who are interested and are coming and have confirmed that they will be there for sure 100% unless at late notice change or if you have booked tickets for interstate people to show they are coming), "Paid" (For those who have confirmed and have paid on the day, This will be checked on the day.) So please if you are interested or are one of those categories please PM me with your email address and full name so I can add you to the list. I will still add ATDB users names onto the list if they have showed interest by posting here but I would like to hear from you in person.

Many thanks,

I'm overwhelmed by the level of interest shown so far. If there is anybody who would like to attend and hasn't made themselves known to either myself or Mr OC Benz, please do so when you can because we need to get an idea of approximate numbers by the end of November.

Thanks!

I would like to attend but it looks like it is clashing with a Tour that has been organised since early August and being organised for late January 2011.

Which tour is that? Once there is a rough date set for both maybe we can move dates around so they don't clash.

They haven't organised that one yet though... Still haven't confirmed much there, so they probably have a bit of room to move on dates there.

I agree that it isn't fully organised but looks pretty definate.
This part is definate so far: Pick up will be Franklin Street outside the bus station then it will be shotgun ride to Murray Bridge. Effectively we will then wend our way back to Bridgewater via the railway line stopping for photo's etc at former railway stations / sidings etce such as Mannum Road )Murray Bridge); Callington; Monarto South; Balyarta; Nairne; Littlehampton; Mount Barker Junction; Balhannah.

Once back in AdelaideMetro territory we will visit some former bus terminii in the Adelaide Hills like Bradbury, Longwood and a run along former Route 821 via Swamp Road, Piccadilly.

I would like to visit the site of Upper Sturt Station, however it is a little difficult to get a bus to the site, but I am still working on it. This site is an excellent photo opportunity if timed for when a train is due because there is a tunnel that they emerge from, would make a great shot.

More details later.

Just like this one, the exact date has to be set or confirmed.
Adelaide Tour
Remember, at present please do not book yet. I will call for bookings probably in early November. Because of the distance involved the cost of this tour may be slightly more than previous tours, but all the details of cost, exact date, timetable will be revealed all at the same time. I will also be asking for a small deposit to be paid as the last tour just covered my costs due to people saying they will come then being no shows.

Perth Tour
We have selected a date for Sunday 23 January 2011. However it is not fully confirmed yet and may change. If there are any problems with this date let me know please.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to attend this one as it will also be my first time to Perth.

Once that Adelaide Tour has a confirmed date that suits them make sure I'm contacted so that hopefully they aren't clashed. We would like to keep the Sunday 23 January 2011 date and probably won't be changed unless there is real need to.

It would be ideal if the Perth tour is held the second Sunday before school starts in January because of the travel requirements. Additionally, holding a Perth tour earlier in January would probably mean more expensive airfares and accommodation for the people who are travelling here from the east.
