Hobart Tour @ O'Driscolls

Post by Tas Bus Nut »

#2 in the series. This involved a visit to O'Driscolls depot @ Austins Ferry in Hobart's northern suburbs. Peter O'Driscoll was on hand to offer information of his fleet, and was greatly received. Highlight of this location was for Desto Dave who was able to "drive" an ex Ventura Leyland Tiger AGAIN!!
Our "ride" out to O'Driscolls was in the RETIRED Hobart Coach #13 (M.A.N. 16.290) and was driven by metro_tas 's Pop who was the ORIGINAL driver @ HC days. Unfortunately I myself did not get any pics @ O'Driscolls Austins Ferry depot, however we headed up to their New Norfolk yard where these pics were taken.

What a good fleet of buses that O'Driscolls have. That Metro MAN PMC 160 #13 looks different with those coach style mirrors fitted to it! I have never seen these type of mirrors fitted to a PMC 160 bodied bus before

Just a bit, BUT it still looks good. Keep working on it Greg. Better than the cardboard buses Metro distributed a while back.

Very Nice :D Try making it a bit shorter though, using the bins as a guide- Mabye make them 2/3 to 3/4 the size the are now.

Update:
My Model PMC 160 (HC/Met 13)
I have mad a few changes and are pretty happy so far, i have put a changeble destination in it. I will post a new thread in models later today!
Pretty happy with my creation, its a bit fiddly but well worth the outcome!! For extra durability its been laminated to rather 'tough' for a paper bus!

My next Challenge is to create the whole Hobart Fleet! Bar Coach 1! that has too many curves for a boxy cardboard but!
