Mix of buses seen at Rockingham on emergency rail between Cockburn and Mandurah this afternoon due to a bushfire. Only listing the out-of-contract buses as frankly I've forgotten the usual Rockingham contract buses that were there!

1225 (might have been 1228, only saw it from a distance)
1281
1297
1342
1571
1647
2268
2418
2777
2780
2961
3052
3099
3255 (possibly on its first shift in service)

CVL1808 (Chart-A-Bus)

Yep I was on board Perth CAT 2780 whilst it was doing an express run to Rockingham/Warnbro/Mandurah.

On a side note I saw 1355 in service at Warnbro Station this arvo

Yes. 1225 is stored in Midvale, however I don't know where 1228 is stored.

Cheers!
Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.

Definitely would have been 1228. Midvales 1221 and 1225 are only doing airport transfers now champ. No longer doing passengers services anymore :)

Well, funnily enough, on Monday I went for a walk around the Joondalup Depot to try and spot a BZL (to no avail). Rather, I saw 1226 and 1228 stored there.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

One of the 100 series ex CATs was involved in a relatively minor accident with what looks to be a Mazda CX3 on Gilmore Ave in Kwinana mostly front end damage so possibly another unit for early disposal Image

Looks like 119 got hit. If the front from 1289 is good then maybe it can be grafted on. Otherwise, they can choose from 1234, 1235, 1240 and 1253.

For the love of god please stop posting useless comments like this. Who's to say they don't have spare parts already, given how commonly new bumpers are required? Why would they need to tear apart an OC that'd likely end up at auction otherwise? WHY DOES IT MATTER WHERE THE PARTS COME FROM?

I agree with Squiddy, could we please stop making these useless speculative comments that don't contribute anything meaningful to the discussion? !

Volvo BZL #2 (TP4001) has been registered and was sighted at Trucks Centre sporting the red CAT livery, a fact that it was also the same exact unit on display at Volvo Group Australia headquarters for the debut event of the 'BZL' range in September 2021.

I forsee the possible return of 2880 and 2881 to normal service soon now that both 4000 and 4001 are registered and painted in Joondalup CAT livery.

If the BZLs are a success, Midvale might be next to get them for the Midland Shuttle, which currently has 1466 as a permanent bus.

Can we please go at least a day without pointless speculation that doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the thread?
