Re: What makes you happy today?
It didn't make happy or sad, but I thought I'd mention a passenger at stop 17 Main North Rd (adjacent to the Sefton Park shops) who thought a 1989 ex Torrens Transit (and ex Melbourne) SL200 with no desto displayed was performing the next bus service to Adelaide.
It happened to stop to enable the other two vehicles to catch up, which were also ex Adelaide high floors. Admittedly it was still the 'AdMet' livery, but has this fella literally not seen a bus running not in service before...
Who would want to catch a pre 1990s design when they can indulge in the extreme comfort and rattle-less environment of a modern CB80?

Re: What makes you happy today?
What made me happy years ago was a taxi passenger of mine years ago who was planning to live in Canada saying I'm sick of Australians -coming from an Australian.
He was probably referring to Sydney people mainly. A man after my heart.

Highway Patrol back on TV, 7:30 Wednesday on 7, usually used as a filler when a reality show bombs. New episodes featuring a BMW cop car.
The guy who ran his VX Commodore into a fence, and was disrespectful to the cops shows how bad our society has become.
EDIT: Here is the link to the episode on 7 Plus- https://7plus.com.au/highway-patrol

• Five young ones that always try to get on buses for nothing. This time though, it didn't work, the bus drivers refused them travel.
They tried it multiple times today. This time though, they were going to the next stop and the next stop, then the next bus in attempt to get on the bus without paying.

Going to the Newcastle (Well Maitland mind you) truck show... was a wonderful day to be out and finally something to do with Transport that was on around here, we hardly get any of that outside of Steamfest.

Something I’m very grateful for and really appreciative of is my relatives didn’t have to evacuate yesterday in Sydney’s Catastrophic fire danger rating.

Now now, you can't call that "truck show" a "truck show", you need to call it the "Road Transport Awareness Day" Show".ScaniaGrenda wrote:Going to the Newcastle (Well Maitland mind you) truck show.
Back to the real point: You do know that except for the parade, you have to pay $10 to get in now, before that it was $2 or so, and before that when it was moved to Maitland Showground, it was free?

Here's what makes me happy right now; the figurative conveyor belt at Volgren Dandenong has clocked the big number 5000.

Re the title: Finding a complete version of a document I wrote over 8 months ago which unfortunately wasn't backed up.
It describes the chaos in a weekend shift involving a 'known' bus driver from Torrens Transit's Newton depot (company owned).

Re: What makes you happy today?
That doesn't entirely make sense but sure.
Electric buses have been around Europe for quite a few years (in smaller numbers). It's only in the last couple of years where bigger fleets of electric buses have popped up, and with the recent advancements in electric technology, some Australian companies have found it possible to use them. I wouldn't thank Greta for that.
I also don't see how Greta might have influenced Volgren. Volgren has adapted the Optimus body to fit the BYD chassis. Transdev could have just as easily asked Custom, Bustech or any other bus builder to get a suitable body to fit the BYD chassis.
But hey, Greta is oh so wonderful.
Cheers!

Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.
