Freo finally getting a win - even if only by 1 point :)
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Collingwood losing again, this time to Richmond. The feral Collingwood supporters phoning in on the talkback segment after the match were hilarious, as was Rex Hunt in his post match program.

Referring to the recent crash in Punchbowl involving a PBC CB80 and a red-light running truck, the fact that Punchbowl Bus Company have completely dodged Bustech for so many years, despite their surrounding operators Transdev and STA (when they were running region 6 before) making a whole shopping cart of Bustechs, makes me all the more satisfied with PBC. The way the CB80 body handled the impact from that moron in the rig made it absolutely sure the aftermath never got as horrific as it could've been. If that was a Scumtech, people would be flung through the windows and you'd have even more severe injuries, or worse.

If anything, PBC, and any other operator who does so, always seem to get their buses from Custom Coaches (NSW, not SA) which plays a little part in keeping the jobs in West Sydney running.

So again, Punchbowl Bus Company gets a good mention from me.

Old People's Home for Four Year Olds, an uplifting TV program, a great relief from the reality shows whose contestants act like 4 year olds. But seriously to see these elderly people benefiting from it is heartwarming. There are a couple of the elderly folk that didn't enjoy it at first, but they soon warmed to it.

Two things...

1. ^^ Oh yes, that's a really beautiful program. At least programs like that are still around, considering the garbage that's on mainstream TV nowadays.

2. Just took a look at the CDC NSW & Victoria, Transit Systems NSW and Transdev Melbourne fleetlists, and it looks like Volgren Dandenong will very soon reach its 5000th bus. (The 5000th from Dandenong alone; the 5000th Volgren across all the plants is VG3072 [#703 from Dysons])

I showed Old Peoples Home for Four Year Olds to my Mum, who was moved to tears, she wishes I was 4 years old again, might need a time machine back to 1986 to make it happen.

I did not participate in such a program in my kindergarten or school years, but regularly visited a couple of elderly residents at a local nursing home from when I three, right up until I was almost 21, when the second of those residents passed away. I was asked to participate in a proposed program when I was in year 10, which involved each of us being allocated a resident to spend time with weekly for a few months, but the proposal fell over due to not enough time and workloads.

Watching a rather LARGE bogan mother screaming at 3 bus drivers who boxed her into a school bus stop the cursing would make a sailor blush. Better was when she smashed the bus drivers door-in just as the police arrived she was breath tested at 7.30 well over the limit also had 2 babies in seats in the back................comming back car was still there BUT with 4 flat tyres! made my day.

GWS winning the preliminary final by 4 points, kicking Collingwood out of the Grand Final. Seeing the Collingwood army all in tears and fits of anger was the best feeling.

@Captainch, if that had happened where I'm from i'm sure the local Derros would've defended her and given the officers a hard time. And two kids in the back car while over the limit? I hope they throw the book at her but knowing our justice system they'll give her some slap on the wrist punishment and on she goes. Depending where this was (if NSW) she'd probably would've lost her license on the spot under the new anti drink driving laws. Doesn't stop them from getting behind the wheel unlicensed through.

What makes me happy? Finally getting to ride an ex Brisbane Transport L94UB and it was amazing and a chance of air from the the K94 Scania's and Scania's with a CR228L body. Also got to ride my first CDC Volgren Endura yesterday. I have a theory that with them getting ex stationlink buses it's pushed them to bring out the Enduras on rail replacement. Previously I have somewhat seem them operate Rail replacement but only as Standby.

Last nights episode of Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds, was the series final, lovely to see that the elderly people and the kids, have so far maintained thier relationships, the elderly people are a lot happier and healthier. Fiona, the kindergarten teacher in the series has kept the program up in some form, by having a fortnightly session with the elderly people.

Sadly one of the elderly residents passed on in May this year.

It is on Iview if anyone wants to see it, highly recommended viewing.

I find the blonde coordinator who runs the workshop quite cute. The other two women who talk to the camera are nice as well.

I also loved it when Eric, after a game of bowls, decided to bowl just one more ball on the sly, and ended up having a bit of a tumble, however all was well and no harm done and he laughed it off.
