[May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
Greetings all and welcome to the May/June observations thread. Not much usually happens in May or June, they're typically pretty quiet months.
Seaford train services are set to resume on Monday 6 May, servicing the new sunken Oaklands station.
Currently Southlink have a number of buses on loan from Torrens Transit, these should return once the Seaford line resumes operations. Your last chance to see these buses operating out of their normal operating territory is now.
Please... Post your South Australian transport observations here that wouldn't seem to warrant their own thread.

Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
Lots of the buses that had been loaned to Southlink for train subs are doing normal Mule End shifts this morning, so I assume that all of those buses have now been returned to Mile End and the buses that Mile End has from St Agnes and Morphettville have been returned to their home depots.
Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
Pretty much all the Bustechs from Mile End were in service this afternoon including on AO services.TT wrote:Lots of the buses that had been loaned to Southlink for train subs are doing normal Mule End shifts this morning, so I assume that all of those buses have now been returned to Mile End and the buses that Mile End has from St Agnes and Morphettville have been returned to their home depots.

Saw 4 or 5 heading along Brighton Rd yesterday morning one after the other.

Sounds like it took an unusually long amount of time to enter service. I thought this CC jackpot artic was built months ago.
Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
Torrens Transit Scania Bustech 1025 has entered service this morning, currently on a 239 route to Arndale.

Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
I was on the train platform at Port Adelaide yesterday. It was pretty wet. A lady in her thirties asked me to confirm for her that she was on the right one for going into the city.
I've often remembered that it's the same side as if driving a car. But we had a quick look at all the prominent signage around us as the train arrived and it did seem that the most obvious advice for a visitor was missing or immediately unclear, if only at first.
I told her about the newish signs at the bottom of the ramps. She just wanted to be sure I guess.

That's the way the whole thing started, silly but it's true ...

Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations
Regarding recent deliveries, would I be correct in assuming that MAN SL202 845 and onward are still in service? It registers with me that 1023-1026 would have theoretically stole the spots of 841-844. 840 should still be on the road, being the last one built.
If 1999 saw the end of 1637, then it makes sense, but I stand to be corrected.

I spotted Torrens Transit Scania L94UA 1361 in front of me on a driver training this afternoon in the Somerton Park area. He/she did quite well navigating the small roundabouts on King George Avenue and Moseley Street
Next station is Victoria Square. Change here for all trains.

Premier Marshall through treasurer Lucas, has announced price increases proposed for public transport fares in FY19/20.
The $5.00 fee for a full fare metrocard is been reintroduced, $3.50 for concession... 2 section tickets are being abolished as well as metro card 2 section fares.

I would have thought there was more rorting of the concession Metrocard than the 2 section ones.
