Not having a go at you Tonyp, but at the article itself. In reality there is no suggestion the construction had anything to do with said accident. Though the intersection has copped some flack in the Crimes as it is the intersection that requires the most amount of re-grading of the road surface and it isn't happening quick enough for some, complaining about bottoming out as they roar through a 'road' works zone.

Based on this I have it all wrong with my business !!!!.White with orange/red for the bus livery and a nice soft shade of red for the seats in my last 2 buses.!!!
I find the current preoccupation with bus interiors in having dark blue seats and grey trim and heavy tint windows to be cold,dark and unwelcoming.The red seats provide a nice airy,welcoming enviroment.
Our pax like them.

I can recall Southland B.S. having several buses delivered new with 3-4 seat colours all mix and matched throughout the bus - and that was more than 30 years ago!! As I recall 34 a Hino BG100/ Smithfield was one of them.

The trackbed seems to be concrete for the whole length even though tyred vehicles aren't supposed to use it. You'd expect concrete at intersections and around the southern end but why in open country? G:link stage 2 has sleepers on ballast.

Well, this is almost under-engineered by NSW standards but yes you'd think they'd stick with ballast - not only cheaper and easier for track maintenance, but suppresses wheel-rail noise better. Like Gold Coast, they can't even use the concrete runway for bustitution thanks to the centre-island platforms. It's a poor engineering decision, but it's done now so we're stuck with it.

I guess they want to reinforce the notion that it is a street tramway, not a (light) railway line?

Could be done with enough willpower. After all, Sydney's M2 busway has/had the same. The main *technical* issues would be the termini, and the location of many stops adjacent to (light-controlled) intersections. Can't really see it happening, though.
