Have seen that myself. I suspect its intended to make it easier for passengers to find information relevant to them.
(Legibility? Although I have a distaste for the term... If you don't know what "QE2 Medical Centre" or "Elizabeth Quay Bus Station" is, then what's the point of a bigger sign? Same with light-rail; okay, some tracks in a road theoretically indicates the existence of (a) service (or services), but those tracks don't tell you where the service goes to - again, if you don't know whats-what in Perth, signs mean precisely nothing).

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - Nov/Dec 2016
Transdev Renault # 728 was spotted this afternoon sporting a Mobitec LED destination board in place of the front wind-up display.
Some Hearsay:
Given the relatively quick withdrawal of the Renaults; common sense has it this will have come from a withdrawn unit.
750 was withdrawn back in July, and was equipped with the front Mobitec displays.
736 is (was?) also fitted with the displays; *speculation* has it, based on a lack of recent sightings that this may well have been withdrawn.
Both could have supplied the destination unit. This is only my interpretation of the situation, but based on what we know, it seems at least semi-reasonable.
Mod(s), feel free to amend post and remove my "hearsay" if you deem it unnecessary

Both 736 and 750 are withdrawn and are now unregistered, I reckon you're on the money there.

Hadn't thought to check the registration. So 736 is definitely gone... May have been a bit "unique" in the end, but sad another one is gone.sylar wrote:Both 736 and 750 are withdrawn and are now unregistered, I reckon you're on the money there.
Next one at Freo to have expired rego is 746. That one is in reasonable condition, so I (hope) it doesn't go next.

1531, 1536 & 1538 are all now at Shenton Park. (Source: Myself lol ) - This is among a host of new developments with buses swapping across Swan depots willy nilly over the last week!
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - Nov/Dec 2016
you beat me to it as I saw 1538 on the Terrace around lunch time today doing a 24. Karrinyup must be close to having no more NH's left in its fleet.TP1173 wrote:1531, 1536 & 1538 are all now at Shenton Park. 1585-1588 have joined with 1589 and 1590 down in Bunbury, I caught 1585 yesterday when I ventured down to Bunbury yesterday, and I saw all six of these NH's out in service.

I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.
