With high frequency services using Mill St to enter the EQBS, the taxis that routinely double-park and park right at the corner to the Tce are going to have to change their ways! They're a problem now, but only for buses running empty at the moment (935s finishing at Westralia Sq, etc.); in-service buses every 5-10 minutes is a different matter...

Transperth Service Changes - 2016

Post by shinjiman »

Just saw this one before and wondering if there's double banks to go to the Perth Busport. :D

What do I mean is it would be great if there's such frequency to go to the Perth Busport.

I'm not so sure there is. This is one of the two glaring errors I wanted to mention earlier. The other one being that on the 970 and 960 stops, there is no 'high frequency stop' label on them. This may be intentional, however I do think it will confuse some people as the printed timetables still say High Frequency on them.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

There's bus stops along Lord Street and Guildford Road with the routes 41, 42, 48 and 55 are marked with "High Frequency Stop" as well, although there's no 900 series route to run in there.

You don't need a 900-series to have high-frequency at a particular stop. With four different routes running along the same bit of road, I imagine there would be a bus every 10-15 minutes or so at most times of the day.

Hi all, not sure if already mentioned...
Route 370 - Time Changes

30 October 2016
From Sunday 30 October 2016, Route 370 will undergo time changes.
This change will better reflect the running time of the route and allow for a quicker journey.

The departure times from Mirrabooka Bus Station in the morning and Perth Busport in the afternoon will remain unchanged.

These are probably some of the last service changes for the year. 30, 31 and 34 extended to Perth Busport and 471 re-routed to serve Burns Beach among other minor changes.
Transperth website wrote: Routes 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 39, 40, 70, 72, 75, 285, 286, 287, 288, 293, 295, 296 298, 345, 380, 471, 473, 474 and 935 - Service Changes

4 December 2016

From Sunday 4 December 2016 the following changes will occur:
  • Routes 30, 31 and 34 will now extend to Perth Busport and will undergo time changes

  • Routes 36, 39, 40, 286, 287, 293, 295, 296, 299, 380 and 935 will undergo a minor route change in Vic Park. These services will no longer service Stop 14509 (Craig St after Burswood Rd) and Stop 14451 (Great Eastern Hwy before Burswood Rd). New stops will be located on Burswood Rd
  • Routes 286, 287 and 293 will also undergo time changes
  • Route 345 will no longer extend to Whiteman Park due to poor patronage. The trips will continue to operate however they will terminate on Bennett Springs Dr

Pulled a few timetables pertaining to the routes like the 114, 115, 150 and 160. It looks as though departure from the termini remains the same, although the overall journey time has been tweaked by up to 2, maybe 3 minutes.

Given that the 115 (per the timetable, at least) are often running 2-3 minutes late very early in the run (based on my frequent usage of the route), it will be interesting to see how we go.

One more point: That was about a week or 2 after Bill Marmion came in when Dean Nalder quit the job as transport minister.

Well, Transperth (and the City of Perth, possibly) have f**ked up here. I looked at the 34 timetable, and how that is getting to Perth Busport. There ain't no room to turn left if they go from the turn lane, which means they can't go into the tunnel off Wellington, or turn with enough room to go down Wellington, then follow the way in from the Arena.

Cheers!
Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.
Last person to tag off a Transdev Joondalup service - 19/1/20.

An earlier post claimed the extension to the busport was going to be via Milligan St. Guess that was a crock.

As on the turning there it should have enough room to turn left from William Street into the Perth Busport via the tunnel, however if the bus wanna to turn left into Wellington Street the bus may need to occupy portion of the second lane in order to make the turn there. It's similar for the case of the route 15 where it turns left from Fitzgerald Street into Newcastle Street.

It applies to all routes through there. Just some of the PDFs haven't been updated for some reason.
Earlier, I quoted Transperth which wrote: From Sunday 4 December 2016 the following changes will occur:

Lol I was trying to hint that the information had already been posted. See here: http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... 75#p994482

Just for those not in the know, the route change is a result of road improvements being made to support new developments on the Burswood Peninsula (namely Perth Stadium as one of the first). The upgrades results in right turn from Craig St to Great Eastern Hwy being removed. With a new signalised intersection being built at the Burswood Rd and Great Eastern Hwy, this will be the new access onto Great Eastern Hwy for buses. Craig St / Resort Dr is being extended up the west side of Crown to the new stadium which will greatly improve bus movements to the new stadium and provide additional road capacity for the growing peninsula.

Already put this on 'Charles St Bus Bridge' thread (i.e.http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... 26#p996260) Find the link there. It just seems that more users look at the bi-monthly obs, service changes and general questions threads.
