PTA/Transperth Bus Observations - June 2014

Post by TP1462 »

Yea so I've been told that must be the highest number for an Optimus bus in service they mustn't be in service just yet, apparently 2167-2169/2170 will be delivered by weeks end. Joondalup/Wangara will probably be getting a fair few that'll be used as feeder bus services for the Butler extension

Three Volvo B12B's were seen at Rockingham Station last night at 12:30 in the morning, I think it must be rail replacement between Rockingham and Mandurah.

I saw 1947 doing a 909 Rail Replacement bus heading along Ennis Ave south of Rockingham Station last night at about 12:15am in as well, and I saw a railway track grinder on the tracks between Rockingham & Warnbro Station when I was heading along Ennis Ave as well.

Either numbers or destinations can be displayed together or independently.
But there's no option to select spaces in the route number, so a blank indicates a fault.

(That lack of space is a bug, BTW, as it means that two digit route numbers can't be displayed correctly.)

It sounds like the driver may have just entered the destination into the Thoreb and forgotten to enter the route number (or accidentally pressed OK too early and didn't realise the numbers weren't entered). I have seen that a few times especially with the destination having to be put in via the Thoreb. It seems it is much easier to make a mistake than with the very simple, but effective ICU400 controller.
