Hi, I have just pruchased the above bus, STA number 2901. Has anyone installed a tow bar on these buses or knows how to? Any info would be great, thanks.

Hi Darren,
For what it is worth we had a tow bar made by a welding works and had it signed off by an engineer. You might be able to do the same.
Cheers

What kind of trailer are you thinking of pulling?
There really is not a place where you can mount a tow point without some massive cosmetic surgery - the back bumper on a merc is either bolt on (or riverted), there's another crossbar behind that but it's anything but structural (bolt on as well)

I will be pulling a tandem car trailer with a Captiva on it, so will need something substantial.

We had two that were anchored at the gearbox mounts, coming together underneath and running to the back. The 0 305s don't have a chassis as such, so fitting a towbar isn't as straight forward as most buses.
Have you thought about a-framing the Captiva instead?

I built a towbar for a Scania coach that replaced that last bolt in crossmember.
