Industry wages
Well today I was offered what I thought was a great job for a Diesel Mechanic at a well established bus manufacturing firm but there was a hitch.... The wages offered were far below industry standard. I mean I would of had to take a $9/hr pay cut to accept this job. How much is the average hourly rate for trades people in the bus and coach manufacturing/refurb industry?

Re: Industry wages
Last time I was on the tools at a private bus company I was on $25/hr ordinary rate. That was in 2010 - hopefully said company has graced their Coachies and Mech's with periodic pay increases.
Would you have a look at that K-Whopper hallin' that Wriggle Wagon hes got it to the floor and looking for more!

Re: Industry wages
Current award rate is only $20 per hour for mechanics (Taken from BCA magazine updates) It is, to be honest, S**T money for busting your hump but it pays some bills and hey its more than light vehicle mechanic
I think the current rate for most Sydney private bus operators is $28 - $33 per hour, most decent truck dealerships would probably be starting around the $34 mark.
