1988 Hino RB145 rainbow bus engine conversion
I would like to know if their is a later model hino turbo engine I can use to replace the wo4ct engine that is fitted? What other gear(gearbox, tailshaft, etc;) would I have to change to achieve this?

No doubt a later model truck engine and gearbox could be made to fit, just what are trying to achieve? What has to be changed depends on what engine you want to put in. All these things cost money, esp when you start engaging engineers to certify the work.
The RB145 is no powerhouse, but they do run reasonably comfortably at highway speeds.

I'm just finding it difficult to find another WO4C-T for under $5500(untested,not guaranteed).I am just looking for alternatives. If I could find a engine about half that price I wouldn't even be considering this.Even if I could find another block,I would rebuild the blown one.Yes your right. All those other changes would no doubt cost a lot more.Anybody got a cheap WO4C-T Engine?lol.

Those Rainbows were quite popular in their time. I'm sure there would be a few around in scrap yards.
