tacho wiring B10M

Postby bagmaker » Mon Feb 13, 2017 7:58 pm

Hello fellows,
1987 B10M volgren built DD, does anyone know of the tacho wiring system?
There are only 3 pins on the gauge itself, "+" "-" and "w"
The pulse is generated by a magnetic style switch on an engine gear.
It worked OK before my wiring "modifications" but shows nothing at present with the "w" connected directly to one of the switch terminals

Does the tacho need a 24v pulse feedback from this switch or does it earth through the switch (sender) like a normal level / temperature gauge?

Cheers for any help

Thanks Rob,
I figured it out but forgot to update this post. For lurkers in the future, the tacho sender polarity is critical, wire on the wrong side gets you nothing.
I dont suppose that manual is in electronic form??
